Welcome! Robot Jopson Week is a The Terror fandom event that centers on fanworks featuring interpretations of Thomas Jopson as a robot. It will be held on October 1 -7, 2026.
Robot?!
A robot is defined as “a machine capable of carrying out complex actions on its own.” Most real-world robots can perceive their surroundings and act without direct human control, which can give off the illusion of intelligence or self-awareness. The science fiction genre often imagines technologically advanced, fully sentient robot characters and the ethical questions that follow. Real and fictional robots can closely resemble humans (androids), look non-human, or be completely immaterial.
This description is meant to be a loose guide to creating; Please feel free to interpret robot liberally! Any fanwork that explores themes such as, but not limited to, artificiality, technology, and autonomy is welcome.
Rules & Guidelines
All participating fanworks must prominently feature an interpretation of Thomas Jopson as a robot. (Please see previous section for parameters) As long as this guideline is met, feel free to be creative with interpretations of other characters who may appear in the fanwork!
No Generative AI.
This is an 18+ event; there are no restrictions regarding adult content. However, please make sure that fanworks are tagged appropriately, if necessary.
All types of fanworks are welcome: Fics, art, gifsets, video edits, playlists, meta, and collages are just some examples!
This event may be combined with other events/bingos.
All prompts are 100% optional. There will be three prompts for each day. If you choose to use them, you can either pick one or combine multiple prompts.
To participate, post your fanwork during the event period and use the tag #robotjopsonweek2026. To have your fanwork shared on the event blog, please tag @robotjopsonweek in your Tumblr post.
If you feel any of your previous fanworks fit the theme of the event, you are welcome to submit them by tagging @robotjopsonweek in the comments. This can happen anytime before and during the event period.
If your fanwork is hosted on Archive of Our Own, you are welcome to add to the Robot Jopson Week collection any time before, during, and after the event period. (Tutorial on how to add to a collection)
Please follow this blog to stay tuned! The askbox is also open.
