KAY WHY ES you waste of life

I opened up my Horror Amino account today, and it filled me with both happy nostalgia and a lot of sadness. There used to be anywhere between 150 and 500 people online at any time, and sometimes it would even go over 500. Now, if you're lucky, there will be 30 people online. No matter how low the effort, my blog posts would pull in hundreds of likes and lots of traffic, and now I'm lucky to get any interaction after the first few hours. It's become a common theme of old communities and social media dying out while advertisement and influencer-led social media hoovers everyone up. It feels like sometimes if the social media can't be bombarded with bots and shit posts it ends up dying out.

I mourn the days when a new horror movie would come out and hundreds of us would be in Amino chat rooms discussing it. I miss when someone, no matter the follower count, would have an equal opportunity to see and hear their thoughts. I miss the close-knit feeling that old internet communities had. Reddit is to post and thread-heavy, while Discord is too chat-based. Meta sites and too plagued with ads and shit postsand twitter is god damn useless.
