Things the senate was willing to ignore/live with:

Crossed his army back into Rome without disarming (there were laws against that for a reason)

Illegal war x2 (many of the senators were actively involved in those)

Thing Caesar did that made a mere 60 of the Roman Senators decide to stab him:

Introduced legislation that said the senators had to pay their employees/reduced where they could use slave labour

Expanded the senate to give representation to leaders of the places they'd colonised

Gave citizenship to the people they'd colonised

Extended voting rights to the colonised people

Promised land to veterans

Refused a crown dramatically

Decided to change his role from ELECTED Dictator for a Term to Dictator for Life.

Was a switch/bottomed for other men (it's unclear) in a culture wher gay sex was fine and manly ...but only if you were the top. So homophobia.

IF this secret was out (it's unclear, but Brutus was close to Caesar and might have known) : Had seizures in his adult life. May or may not have been late onset epilepsy. May have been malaria related. May have been a parasite in his brain. In Rome people with epilepsy were considered somewhat unclean and you did not drink from the same cups they used. So ableism.
