Biggest Little Miniatures

Played my 1st game of 11th edition!! Had a great time playing a nail biter that ended 75-73 and was decided by one single Necron immortal surviving to the end of turn and denying my opponent two secondaries.

Keeping secondary objectives between rounds is great. I was able to score some late game that overlapped with each other, allowing me to make a come back after failing to score in early rounds.

Firing lanes are brutal, I was able to line up shots on the board very easily, and so was my opponent.

The game didn't have the "hide behind the L" feel of tenth. Hidden feels intuitive and easy to play.

My "purge the foe" primaries were pretty hard to score against my "Disruption" opponent.

The "condemned" keyword qualifiers were limiting.

I really enjoyed using the Nightscythes! I didn't have them on the table all of 10th edition.

They successfully delivered turn 1 elimination of targets via immortals. They were also effective at pushing up the side lanes and threatening my opponent's home objective. Transports seem somewhat worse, however. In part because emergency disembark kills 1 wound models twice as often. Even so, I enjoyed the deploy-shoot-re-deploy allowed by the invasion beamers rule a lot.

Heavy Lokhust destroyer volume of fire is really silly at close range. It is however, pretty ineffective against high toughness targets.

The Annihilation Legion detachment rule helps with this- the plus 2 strength meant that Lokhusts of both types could wound my opponent's big monsters on a 5.

Today I got inspired and converted 10 Necron warriors in to immortals with Tesla carbines.
