Trying to exorcise my brainworms by making a whole necron dynasty to represent the Drzyr and N'erud. Depressingly, they're doing better here than they are in Remnant 2 (where almost everyone is irretrievably dead or...whatever Tal'Ratha is doing).

Aside from turning their entire crownworld into a worldship that tends to keep on the move to avoid detection by almost everyone except other Necrons, and also their alarmingly advanced and sapient AIs, their major advancement is engrammatic protection, preservation and repair, as overseen by the Custodian (who was maintaining the minds of Nerud's inhabitants in the Great Sleep with a high rate of success, though not perfect, he's not a miracle worker). The madness, erosion and mindlessness that plagues other Tomb Worlds is seen generally as a problem that can be eased or even fixed, depending on the nature of the deterioration and the amount of damage.
