I'm finally trying to figure out how to better describe my personality patterns after years of confusion and mistakes on it. (I'm seeing a professionist rn, but we haven't reached a useful point, we're still talking about my first memories)

I've several OCD and paranoid traits, then a main depression trait and I was wondering -

I've always had troubles falling asleep, because of stuff I was deadly afraid of, then when I managed to I had nightmares and used to wake up a lot during the night. I was scared of so many things and did a lot of things in order to feel safe.

This hasn't changed since I was a child. I remember having only one nice dream: each night I have at least one nightmare, up to many more.

The nightmares are generally about threats or issues I should escape safe from. When I wake up they usually follow me and take a big part of the day to vanish away.

Can nightmares be related to OCD or PPD?

If there are people reading this who could give me an insight about this/their experience it would be very much appreciated.

I'd like to find peace, while my mind's just so busy.
