#actually answered this incorrectly. i have twice #however #the first time was because i had quit my call center job to take a wfh position #hated wfh so much that maybe slightly after or before the month mark i called and got my call center job back #then like two months kater covid happened and they sent us to wfh lol #so i did that for like 2 years and went progressively more crazy and became nearly agoraphobic #i took another wfh job that paid better but within like a month of working that one i got a call back from an actual office gig #so i took it #but ive never quit somewhere without a plan #did get fired once after a year and was out of work for a month #but yeah since 18 ive had a total of...#6 jobs if you dont count the 2 month long spurts in between #so 6 jobs in 10 years #but ive spent at least 6 of those years in the same field

a funny thing about having a Problematic Blorbo is that you'll periodically come across a post along the lines of "um let's not forget that [Blorbo] is a bad person..." listing their various crimes, and if you have a modicum of intellectual honesty you find yourself nodding along and saying yeah it's true... but it's the greyness of their character that makes them so compelling... can we bring back the term "fair-weather friend" bc I feel like if fair-weather friends got called that more this whole argument about whether or not you should be there for your friends when it's inconvenient/at what point of personal inconvenience it's ok to bail on your friends would kinda fall apart bc like. we literally have a word for "friend who's only there when you don't need something from them" because the baseline expectation is that a friend should be there even when it sucks. like we used to make fun of people for bailing on their friends.
