madara knows, on some level, that hashirama returns his feelings. he knows that his love is not unrequited, that hashirama loves him back. but a part of him refuses to acknowledge this. he doesn’t dare tread that territory in his brain, lest he become complacent in his comfort and start thinking he deserves any kind of lasting happiness.

Kabuto's backstory was so funny for confirming that Konoha does in fact have an orphanage, which means they put Naruto, Sasuke and countless other orphans through All That for no goddamn reason

I was going to add tags to the original post about Hiruzen selectively choosing when to care that his child soldiers aren't growing up with caretakers but then I remembered that Kabuto hasn't, like, ever met him. Nor do I remember him ever visiting the orphanage. Nono was probably running that shit independently, all things considered.
