hey can everyone do me a favor and put in the tags why they chose their name? even if you don't go by a chosen name irl, you can put why you chose your online name.
#it all started with my DND character Valtyra whos name I found on a DND name generator#and then I started going by Val online when I named my Palia character after her#and then I went by that for almost 2 years or so now?#and sometime last year/this year I started thinking HARD about the name Valorie#and in enshrouded there is a character named Valory (spelled like that)#and it embodies who I wanted Valtyra to be#specifically the “valor” part. this idea or bravery and courage in the face of significant danger. this heroic vision and concept#and I just really decided I wanted to be valory/Valorie from there on out#I need to wait until this current administration is out#with the bad stuff around birth certificates and name changes#but when things are a bit smoother I'm pretty sure I will be changing my name#it just feels right in a way “Rebecca” never had#I was named after the Bible Rebecca because of her service. because of how she helped other people#and how she made other's lives easier#and that is a beautiful thing#but I'm not religious anymore#and I care about service deeply#but that change was difficult and it took a lot of courage and continues to as I face my entire Mormon family#so instead of being defined by what I can provide others only#I want to define myself by the choice I made to love myself and free myself from a woman service only religious place#while keeping in mind my roots and the heroic ideals of loving others and being brave#idk. I changed a lot and I want my name to represent that#brb changing my name in my account bio :)
