Antimatter refuelling station concepts by Rick Sternbach
TNG "Up the Long Ladder" went through several changes, one of which was the title initially being "Send in the Clones"
Another was the removal of scenes of refuelling the Enterprise D with antimatter.
A gigantic Antimatter Accelerator ring station was conceived with tankers to transport the fuel to the Enterprise D.
The Massive station
The station with a spacedock for scale, and the camera view of the Enterprise fuel port.
The Tanker going to dock with the Enterprise
The tanker from the front with the Enterprise.
Three were budget issues towards the end of the season, and this scene may have been cut due to it.
great things are happening in my notes app
FANTASTIC addition thank you very much
i give up on posting. too many sweats
May as well have a returning established character: don't forget Mesk, proud Orion from Cincinnati, Ohio!
One of my favourite Lower Decks one-off characters, I wanna see him again.
Cleaning and watching DS9 "The forsaken" and it is very funny to me that the bolian ambassador says "the other ambassadors are sexually repressed" and one of those ambassadors is Luwaxana Troi,,, sir,,,, she invented sex u havent even heard of yet,,,
Also
NOOOO they forgot the Pup!
I usually just assume someone from Daystrom came and picked him up.
writing star trek fanfiction as a bachelor of science can be fun and funny except when you need to write technobabble or invent miracle shit outside of your area of expertise
because then you’re like. okay so in this magical future somehow we never see people with ivs or shit, then how do they continuously pump in treatment? you’re gonna tell me they hypospray it every so often? what about people with lacerations? we literally never see blood getting pumped in?? (although granted star trek is pretty bloodless probably because there were some limitations on the amount of gore you can show on tv but still)
i genuinely think medicine is the field that gets fucked over the hardest in star trek and that’s saying something considering the episode that fundamentally misunderstands evolution to justify two major characters turning into giant salamanders after going through infinity speed and get cured with injections of antimatter
Don’t we see blood transfusions in both SNW and in TOS Journey to Babel? I absolutely agree that medicine gets the short end of the stick, but I could have sworn we at least saw that.
And occasionally in DS9
But also it might be that one of the random gidgets they clamp to people all the time does IV stuff and we don't recognise them because they aren't gravity feed bags?

rocky really ate him up here. i fear
We are all just leaky space blobs and I kinda like that idea
I just do not understand what motherfucker saw the premise for Lower Decks and said, "yeah, let's greenlight this as a ten episode a season show and let's only give it five seasons." like it truly makes no sense to me, a show like this would have absolutely thrived under a cable TV type schedule of 20-24 episodes a season and it could have easily gone on for at least 10 seasons, the streaming model truly kneecapped this show from the very beginning
Mike McMahan said he had a seven-season plan for the show and knowing that makes me sad.
STAR TREK WRITERS:
MICHAEL HAS TO RESCUE THE WHOLE CREW IN THIS LAST EPISODE.
LET’S MAKE A SPECTACULAR SCENE IN WHERE MICHAEL PLAYS THIS COMPUTER MEME OF “HAVE YOU TRIED TO PUT IT OFF AND ON AGAIN?” TO GET BACK CONTROL OF THE SHIP! 🤪😂😉
I miss the TNG era scenes where they would shuffle isolinear computer chips, it was physical, and nice, and made sense. everything is all voice command now. As if voice command isn’t the first thing an invading force would turn off. SpaceAlexa won’t recognize reboot command codes if her ears are turned off! But. A computer chip can always be shuffled. Or even now with their personalized deltas. The deltas could have little chips in them like the hidden key in carfobs.
Ooooh that would have been such a good scene in Picard, when Shaw dies and gives Seven his command. She tears off his delta with the hidden key to restore systems command and force a computer reboot at the end when Vox is silenced.
Or like, some no name Ensigns who have to relay chain the dead captains delta to the first officer across the ship so that they can save the ship from an invader. And the FO doesnt know his captain is dead until the last ensign in the chain finally gets him the captains delta.

To be fair, they did disable access and removed crew authorisations from the main computer, that's why there's a whole big fight to get her to the computer core room where she can issue commands directly to the computer's init system and tell it to fully reload the main computer from the install-time backups. (What she's doing here is less 'turning it on and off' and more 'restoring a system drive image').
I would imagine disabling or removing authorisations for crew to directly interface with embedded basic systems from inside the core itself is probably the kind of thing they'd need to have programmers and techs at their spacedock do, basic systems like that should need to be... whatever their equivalent of reflashed with a new firmware is.

STARFLEET ACADEMY // 1.05 "Series Acclimation Mil" This is one of the original Orbs gifted by the Prophets to the citizens of Bajor. It enabled users to feel connected to the Prophets and communicate with them. So, kind of like an interdimensional comms badge that lets you talk to the Prophets. Hmm. Worth a shot.
There might be something in the idea that Sam doesn't immediately think of a difference between viewing something directly and viewing a holoimage of it.
My guess is that the Bajorans allowed The Orb of the Emissary to be displayed on Earth, in Sisko's home city. It's the right colour for the OotE and it does make sense they might permanently loan that one in particular.

The U.S.S. Crusader NCC-74711, from Starfleet Prototype (Panda Productions and Region Five Productions, 2003). I just think it's neat.
Oh my god is this based on ILM's first mock-up of the Enterprise-D plans they received from Probert?
(ILM was used to getting plans and designs and then getting to interpret them on their own and tweak what they thought looked better and Probert had to head over and go 'no we actually very carefully designed every shape and detail, please follow the plans)
The message from the stars was very long and complex, but contained instructions how to decode and parse it incrementally.
There was an image, of a very cute furry creature. And a text, which loosely translated said:
"Send cat pics please!'
Finally, humanity's time to shine.
cadets in the 2380s getting trained on insane survival and tactical scenarios: This make no sense, there’s no way this would actually happen, would it?
academy instructor: It did happen.
cadets: …Voyager?
instructor: *nods and sighs* Voyager.

Doc rolling his eyes like he wasn't the first to sass.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Kira should’ve been allowed to beat Dukat to death with her bare hands.
I genuinely think that at the end of the show a tweak they should've made that would've improved it a lot is that the Pah Wraiths should've abandoned Dukat as a vessel to go do their other plotline stuff and he furiously goes after them all to try to kill Sisko in a rage and then there's a pew and a hole appears in his head and he drops to the ground to reveal Kira behind him holding a still-smoking phaser. (I know phasers don't smoke but this one does.)
