I enjoyed the juxtaposition of anthro animals and feral animals in Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees. It's rare to see stories present this in a way where it not only fits well within the world building but also serves narrative purpose. Samantha is a stone-cold, calculated murderer. As the reader, we're afraid of what she's capable of based on what little we do know about her, yet she still feels small and helpless when faced with her wild counterparts. It's also an excellent illustration of how she justifies her actions in the final act. In her mind, she's simply acting on instinct, defending her territory and her kills, even if her actions aren't carried out in a primal or vicious manner. It was presented really well and added a lot to the story.
