I’ve also seen people say that the cut text here has the typer value 999, as opposed to gaster’s typer value of 666. Mhmmmng. don’t like this. Is Susie going to be okay.

“Kris…! Wake up! KRIS…!” sounds a little like someone trying to wake up a dead person.

Reminds me of THIS moment:

…and it sounds a little similar to the death screen you can get in Chapter 2 that is spoken by Susie:

So maybe the “wake up” quote is actually a past memory of Kris’s, from a timeline before we intervened, that they died in?

After all, the following from Gaster about creating a “New Future”…

…seems to imply there was an old future, which was reset…

…a future which apparently happens again if we give up on the game over screen and let Kris die.

In Undertale, characters often have feelings/premonitions from reset timelines, even if they don’t fully remember them - including being friends with Frisk, if they were.

Considering how Susie acts to Kris like nothing happened in the entirety of DR (and how she even casually remarks that Kris’s head smells like an apple) leads me to believe that this event might have occurred in ‘another timeline’.

Interestingly, the URLs that focus on Kris have repeating names, such as ‘the_n3w3st_g1rl_g1rl’ and ‘kris_dreemurr_kris’. This pattern of repetition is also evident in the song 'Until Next Time’, which has a looping effect.

Also, while it may not serve as concrete evidence, it’s intriguing to note the dialogue of one NPC in the hometown:

“Why is my life stuck in a loop of doughy disappointment…?”

“My life, like a donut, is stuck in a loop of doughy disappointment.”

These statements could potentially hint at the recurring theme of loops or cycles in the game’s narrative.

And we must consider that “Freedom Motif” is only what the playerbase has called this motif. The origin of this motif is from a song called…

The World Revolving.

The whole shtick with Jevil is that the entire world has been imprisoned and that he’s the only one who’s free…

Its even more devious knowing that, if the timeloop theory is true, Jevil would be your first Shadow Boss fight right after the ending if you didnt do it in your first run.

Theres this dialogue from Spamton after beating him in the normal route too.

Spamton has direct ties to Kris and the SOUL’s situation, but he interestingly refers to all three here. Is it the Prophecy, or is it the timeloop?

This changes the entire context for fighting these Bosses. Its now less than “Fighting extra hard Bosses that happen to add to Deltarune’s themes” to “Trying to find freedom from the timeloop we’re all now stuck in”

Whats scary is that Spamton and MANTLE game alludes to the Weird Route, and its highly implied that its all about us BREAKING the Prophecy, our way of breaking the timeloop…

Of course, Gerson is the outlier, which probably deserves a whole post on its own about him potentially hinting at another path in some way…

what if it's not that ralsei knows about the prophecy, but rather is aware of the time loop? or more specifically has been conscious of it the whole time? he knows the prophecy must come true because it HAS for him. over and over again. (i believe kris is also aware of the time loop to some degree. but that's a different tangent.)

this adds credence to my theory of what the "end" of the prophecy really is.

i believe that the end of the prophecy is one of the members of the prophecy turning against the others. but the prophecy doesn't specify WHO. what that means SPECIFICALLY, i don't know, but it's starting to look like it could mean dealing a sort of final blow to the world of deltarune, to the others, or the timeline, or whatever.

and little ralsei, not wanting his friends to have to deal with the grief of betraying his friends that he's experienced over and over again, basically volunteers to be the one to turn against them. it's a self fulfilling prophecy.

it's why he feels so guilty all the time. tries to be the nicest he can. wants his friends to experience the most joy possible and wants them to know that he really cares about them. because in the "end" he anticipates having to do something horrible. because, according to prophecy, someone has to do it.

this would give ralsei the same narrative use as asriel, albeit a sort of foil. a character who has been thru countless lifetimes over and over again. but instead of fighting back and getting angry like asriel/flowey, he leans into the learned helplessness. it's kill or be killed. asriel chose kill. ralsei chooses be killed. (or whatever that would look like for the ending of deltarune.)

if this is correct, in a way, ralsei and asriel would represent us, the player. utdr has always been about making choices, with both games having distinctly different messages: your choices matter (undertale) and your choices don't matter (deltarune.)

what choice will you make when the world wants has infinite choices, each leading to different endings? (will you exhaust every option, stomping on little people to get whatever you want?)

and what choice will you make when the world is constantly reminding you that no matter what you choose, it won't matter? (besides, according to toby, the prophecy, ralsei, etc. there's only "one ending" anyway. tho i consider that to be a BIT of a stretch.)
