I'm actually dying how this would be effective, especially for Lambkin and Sweetheart MCs. Just say their nickname oh-so-sweetly like it's the only one you've ever known. You'll have Mal's full attention in an instant, not that it ever really left you considering how they are.

The Waiter

"I'm sure you have a busy evening ahead…" Mal's comment is accompanied by an enigmatic smile that you can't get a read on, except that his gaze fails to reflect that same pleasantness. He's looking a little too deeply. His burnt umber eyes are made that much darker, more rusted, in the waning daylight and growing shadows. "Don't let me keep you from it," he continues speaking in a light tone while deftly pulling on his helmet. "I wouldn't let go."

As an aside, I'm still mostly on a social media hiatus because I'm focusing on my writing along with family health woes. I don't want anyone to worry about the series, please don't! 🌲 This is me working full force—full tilt—on the second book to then come back when it's time for the public demo drop and announcements. 👀 It's a different approach, but it's best for my stress and for you in terms of waiting.

Listen... OK. I've been obsessing over "The Fernwey Saga" by @lacunafiction and like all the ROs are great, but I am utterly enamoured by the mysterious, not a red flag at all, waitress Mal. So I did a quick pic cause the adhd hyperfocus set in.

○ Mysteriously appears and disappears.

○ She knows way more than she probably should, including about the MC. Like really creepily knows stuff about the MC. (Also, that time she said she wouldn't let my MC go, please don't.... Permission to hold on tight).

○ Deceptively strong, like I am 100% sure she could snap a person like a twig.

○ Rides a motorbike.

○ Makes the best hot chocolate.

○ Can unnerve a person with a smile, yet smiles so softly at my MC Morgan.

○ Occasionally her eyes seem crimson, but I am sure that's just the light.

I love romantic love, but companionship/friendship are equally, if not more, important.

I love characters that reach their redemption arc by finally finding a safe place where they don't need to be in survival mode (that's why I love Astarion so much).

It's beautiful.
