HIV is rarely contracted by people who are aware beforehand that what they’re doing will give them it, which isn’t even necessarily sex. It’s a blood disease, and can be contracted through bad blood donations among other things. Even if it was contracted through sex alone, sex is not an unusual behavior like messing with wires and getting shocked. It’s part of many people’s lives. It’s not something people expect to cause serious problems.

Jokes on them though, it’s fucking rampant no matter if you’re straight or not.
