you know, if that guy had surrendered the baby squirrel he’d found to a licensed rehabilitator it would probably still be alive today. if he didn’t selfishly decide to keep a raccoon as a “pet” it may still be alive too. i cannot fucking believe that someone could blatantly break the laws about captive wildlife which are in place for the health and safety of animals and people and then be shocked when something is done about it. the owner of peanut the squirrel sentenced him to death by choosing to keep him as a “pet” knowing that this was illegal & by keeping a species well-known as a rabies vector in his house and dooming it to be euthanized and beheaded when it would eventually be confiscated. i can’t fucking stand you people
