I genuinely don't know if he is just joking or not, but according to my dad, my older brother is a Trump supporter

Nobody knows where he got this from, we both were born in Italy from fully Italian parents with no concrete contact with the USA, but he's a politics and geography nerd, so he 99,9% perfectly knows what Trump is doing

He really, reaally often makes jokes about supporting Trump or other dictators, and about wanting to be some helper of Trump or Nethanyau (he's 17) and he calls my dad a fascist for not supporting him for this.

I couldn't be more ashamed of being his sister, I don't want to see my last name being the same of an ICE agent or stuff in the future, I genuinely just want out

At 17 he’s still extremely young and impressionable. I’m not saying to ignore it, but what I am suggesting is giving him grace and time to grow.

Half of the people in my life are MAGA. It’s hard. But I don’t think it’s out of bad intentions. I think they see the product he’s selling as a healing elixir, rather than snake oil. And at this point they’re so far in, and Trump has committed so much evil so fast, that it’s difficult for them to admit that they were wrong.

I was never MAGA. But in my late teens and very early twenties I was a right leaning libertarian who was somewhat sympathetic to Trump. I changed. He can too.

I know a lot of lefties will hate me for this. But I love the people in my life who support Trump. They’re great people. They’ve just fallen victim to a deeply evil cult, and have been convinced that the atrocities he is committing aren’t actually happening.
