Hi! Iâm Chips, Iâm a bi trans guy, my pronouns are he/him, and I mostly just reblog memes and fanart here. This blog is like 5 years old and Iâm only just bothering to make an intro post. Iâm usually multifandom but if a particular fandom takes my brain hostage it could seem like all I interact with for a while.

Iâm an adult (only been one for a short while so Iâm still not very good at it yet), idc about minors following/interacting but please be aware I reblog suggestive/NSFW jokes sometimes (I donât reblog explicit writing or imagery tho). I try to remember to tag these so please block the tag #nsft if youâre uncomfortable with that, and I also try to remember to tag most common triggers with â#[trigger] twâ or â#[trigger] warningâ (i.e. blood, eyestrain, slurs, etc), but Iâm not infallible and I forget to tag things sometimes.

Sonic the Hedgehog (the brainrot is severe, these technicolour animals have had me in a chokehold for months). Iâm mostly the mainline universe (the games and IDW comics), though Iâm also a fan of the live-action movies and the Sonic Boom TV show. Shadow is the Ultimate Blorbo, he can do no wrong (except all those times he did but no he didnât â¤ď¸)
The Invincible TV show (havenât read the comics yet, unsure if Iâll read past where the showâs adapted up to until season 4âs out). My fav character is Rex but Iâm also partial to Amber and I love Rudy in a âI want to stuff him in a Pringle can and throw it down a set of stairsâ kind of way
Monster Prom. My fav love interests in Prom, Camp, and Con are Vera, Aaravi, and Omen respectively; make whatever assumptions you will about me based on that
Iâm not actively into PokĂŠmon, Spider-Man, or Invader Zim rn but theyâre always sort of lying dormant in the back of my head, waiting to be reawakened and occasionally possessing me to trawl the tags

similarly to how you should never trust gamers with a nonbinary character i feel like you can also never trust a fandom with an aroace character. whether it's explicitly canon or implied it just ends up the same
every time an allo person wants to ship an aroace spec coded character they should write an essay with MLA format citations on how this serves the themes of the story and is necessary for the character and how their ship is any different than the relationships said character already has and they should also send $500 dollars minimum to at least one aroace person in their fandom

Had a dream I was gaming so hard during a run of Deltarune that I somehow unlocked all the unreleased chapters even the ones that haven't been made yet and I pulverized through every single enemy just by running into them really fast, making them violently explode into scattered pixels with my sheer force. So this morning I found out that the RPG Maker forums will be shutting down this year, and itâs really just another depressing thing to see.
If you read the link the company does of course say theyâre replacing the existing forums with new ones, and Iâm sure no one would say the old ones didnât perhaps need a lil bit of a glow up, some tech debt fixing⌠but thereâs a few key notes in there:
They are NOT carrying over any history, data messages etc. from the old forums
They are NOT archiving, retaining or in any way saving the existing forums in any way
They have NOT provided any reasoning past âas part of continued efforts to support developersâ
As an offhand, moderate read, this sounds to me like a desire for some change in the forums but deciding nuking everything is less expensive than rebuilding and carrying over info.
If Iâm cynical, and likely realistic? Probably to increase sales of their latest GameMaker software by making it inherently more difficult for someone getting the older software for cheap pushing it to its limits. The amount of institutional knowledge on those forums is absurd.
And even if it is a benign reason, itâs still terrible because what do you mean youâre doing this with no recourse or potential for change? You sell software that runs on community goodwill? In an era where people are pulling away to open source software?? Crazy.
There are yeeeaaars of answers, plugins, suggestion, community built up on those forums - Iâve used the em to learn and grow my own skillet!!! And soon it wonât exist.
At the very least, they gave a âheads upâ - the deletion occurs mid December, so archiving by the community is possible from now. Itâs just absurd that it needs to happen in the first place.
Itâs just reflective of how the industry is right now - and why itâs so important for communities to grow and build up knowledge together, knowledge that is NOT reliant on a company that can pull the plug at any time in the very name of the very customers, users and supporters they are screwing over.
