I wrote this a couple months ago and love the concept but have no idea where to go with it so here.
Ronan's dreams were complicated sometimes they weren't he would go in with a plan and come out with a set of keys or a bouquet of flowers that he'd have to give to Declan to give to his mother. Then there were the nightmare creachers made of feathers claws and skin that wanted to end him so badly that they would also follow him in to the waking world. On occasion they were like anybody else dreams nonsensical, vague, almost like we're trying to tell him something that never quite made sense, and nither did the thing he brought back.
Thing get exponentially more complicated when Ronan wakes up to find a man in his bed the literal man of his dreams and it's god damed Adam Parish.
Can't a man have a wet dream about his crush with having to deal with the morality of killing a living being.
It happened at the barns thankfully it happened at the barns if it happened at Monmouth he may as well have died on the spot.
He was dreaming trying to find a way to wake his mom permanently and save Mathew. After another unsuccessful attempt he thought about how the things he took drained the ley line. Sure it wasn't 150 identical white Mitsubishis and he had permission as the Greywaren but it still took something away.
Adam had spent so much of the past few weeks trying to help Cabeswater, maybe he could ask to dream something that could help more than a bowl and a few tarot cards.
So for probably the 10th time that day Ronan slept. He thought of the Cabeswater, he thought of the ley line, and he thought of Adam, it was Adam's connection he was trying to help and Adam was a frequent guest in Ronan's dreams. So there was no surprise when all three appeared around him one by one. What was surprising was that instead of giving him an idea for how to help the ley line Dream Adam grabbed his hand. Once Dream Adam was confident in the way they were holding hands he started to pull Ronan deeper into the woods. Until they were in a different clearing this one surrounded by flowers he new his mother had sometimes picked. Then Dream Adam gestured for Ronan to sit down next to him.
Ronan is trying really hard to ignore the hand holding because finally this dream is going to tell him how to help.
Except it doesn't. Instead Dream Adam leans in for a kiss. Ronan short circuits at the first brush of lips. He doesn't pull away but he doesn't reciprocate for just a second before joining in. Ronan had had dreams about kissing Adam before sure but those were always dreams where he was in control, where he had leaned in first. This was the most real a kiss from Adam had ever felt. It was most likely the closest to ever would be, if his failed relationship with blue is anything to go by.
