what if sometimes batman imagines just shooting nightwing in the head a second time and then when his memory gets all fucked up again and he forgets who he is, bruce takes the Overboard route and convinces dick that he still lives in the manor with him and never moved away and they hang out all the time like best friends the way they used to and dick doesn’t know what a nightwing is and doesn’t get himself almost killed all the time and instead he’s a regular guy who goes to work every day and is a regular part of society and

“why would he imagine this??” because he’s batman and he can’t say ‘hey i wish you got to experience a normal life as a normal guy and im sorry’
