He also did not paint starry night and his other great works because he was depressed, he painted most of them while he was in recovery and demonstrated his hopefulness and love of the world through this. Most of his great works were painted from his room at a hospital. Van Gogh’s depression should not be glorified. His hope and effort toward a better life, as well as his recovery from depression should be glorified.

the reason why tumblr’s taste in tv is the same 5 boring shows is because nobody wants to watch anything that’s experimental or artistic or difficult, but are also all too preoccupied with wanting things to be “woke” and “wholesome” (in the most meaningless and surface level of ways) to care about the actual quality of a show or let themselves enjoy anything camp or interesting or just plain bad but in a fun way

and whenever a show starts getting beyond that, it’s suddenly just problematic and everyone denounces it and attacks the crew and writers.
