they really turned dm into a one-sided decades long stalking case on armand's part so their present relationship is just gonna be armand trying to convince someone to love him. again.
'the season's not over be patient'
lemme tell u: if literally everything we're watching rn is a fake out or a twist that gets kiboshed in the final episode then it's not good writing it's just a waste of the audience's time
nobody wants to say it but loumand blood drinking in front of daniel while actively mocking him and waiting for him to call them on their weird servant roleplay nonsense and armand being a vampire while unbelievably horny the entire time was the best sex scene on iwtv and we will not reach such highs again
Armand is honestly in a very strange place narratively. He claims that he has done wrong to Daniel which messed up 52 years of his life, but from what he stated were examples of his love towards Daniel, he doesnβt seem responsible for what went wrong in his life.
Armand watched and made sure Daniel wasnβt a danger to himself from all the things he was doing. He prevented sex scandals from leaking to the press and offered him comfort in a private place to mourn when his family had denounced him. That doesnβt sound like anything malicious and yet heβs taking the blame for Danielβs life going sideways.
Unless he actually did do something other than San Francisco that massively messed up his life, then I donβt see why Armand is shouldering the burden of Danielβs life issues all by himself. In fact, this isnβt the first time heβs done this since he did something similar in his apology letter to Lestat. He took blame for things that werenβt 100% his fault and let Lestat soak it in.
Self flagellation doesnβt necessarily lead to any real atonement, but I guess in Armandβs eyes, itβs a path to some form of self-redemption.
Another small rant but. How is lous..tat gonna work out. Louis is just apologising for telling someone about the abuse, for telling his story, for not calling lestat when he was shot (which doesn't even really hurt him), Lestat is racist and doesn't seem to gaf about Louis, they seem like they have absolutely nothing in common, they don't even seem to care about each other, just like two people losing someone and not even that is fair (like they could do this brilliantly about how grief for a child can unite people for a bit but not keep them together, especially if one of the parents is to (partially) blame). But instead they are just back together the next episode why

tell us what you're really thinking about, daniel
βYou have the world to roam, and you can move by day. Go now. Start running. I want to see what you do, I want to know what you are.β
AMC really struck gold with the unreliable narrator idea because now people will insist that any flaw in the storytelling is actually a genius premeditated reflection of a fallible narrator, any pacing issues are actually a genius premeditated reflection of a characters psyche, and any lack of character development is actually a genius premeditated reflection on a characters refusal to face their own trauma, and having cheap looking production is actually a genius premeditated reflection of a characters memories, and any unwarranted deviation from the source material is actually a genius premeditated lie that will be proven false at some unspecified point, and any poor handling of sensitive subjects is actually a genius premeditated commentary on the characters own failings, etc, etc.

A painting of one of my favourite shots from S2. This silhouette of Armand is iconic and was certainly a challenge
But all that shit I was carrying, this guy erased it all, brother. So what's this god's name?
