the nine most terrifying words in the english language are: "i'm having a baby and the baby is you"
still thinking about the time my bf asked about favourite dinosaurs and my brother said quetzalcoatlus (pterosaur (not a dinosaur)) and my bf said dimetrodon ((synapsid (stem mammal) (went extinct 50 million years before dinosaurs evolved)) and i said crows (bird (dinosaur)) and yet i was judged to be the incorrect one in this scenario
i've been phasing the phrase 'google it' out of my vocabulary and going back to 'look it up'. fuck you youve lost your generic trademark privileges
seconding these tags by @ragsy: #if the social consciousness has decided that duckduckgo is the Only Othet Search Engine#might i suggest 'go duck yourself'

Curious pebble (3/?)
Part 1 / Part 2
A massive shoutout to @thereal-sillyguy for making everyone's favorite pebble into a gif! I very literally couldn't have done it without them!
a lot of people who are genuinely bothered by the political oppression of children are nonetheless unwilling to grapple with their own social/legal/class position wrt this issue because it's a lot more comfortable to make vague gestures at the construct of the 'safe adult' and empty pledges to become one than it is to view yourself as empowered to harm someone vulnerable -- &structurally incapable of abdicating that power
One year ago, trans women held an iconic topless protest outside the Scottish Parliament. I love it when trans women hold topless demonstrations. If they're arrested, the state must admit they're women. If they aren't, it exposes the obvious contradictions of defining trans women as legally male.
Now, a year later, Parliament has its first two transgender members, one of whom represents JK Rowling in Edinburgh. We can't attribute this momentum solely to the protest, but the direct action seems to have galvanized a new political movement of trans people across Scotland.
grace is like rocky be honest am i too clingy? and rocky is like grace i would mind meld with you if i could.
tumblr is the funniest social media site to go viral on
on tiktok people will quit their jobs after going viral once but on here not only can any post get 50k notes, but if it does theres nothing you can do with it. theres no monetization or any transferable skills at all. you just made a funny post and people liked it and thats the start and end of your career
you could say "i left the stove on" with no context and it might break containment on here and people start tagging it with ships and kins and theres no way to delete it forever unless staff gets involved. your mistake will never go away but your claim to fame will instantly
its like yes im the pineapple werewolf guy but no one outside of here and like 5 posts on reddit will ever know what that sentence means. i could jump on tiktok and no one would know me. no one on youtube or facebook. this is my little corner of the internet and i will die here before i give up that title and when i do know i lost nothing in the process
exactly

same vibes as this fave of mine from silvazuao (english in alt)
crackpot XIV theory time:
the first time Hydaelyn talked to the researchers at the Antitower, it was through Calca and/or Brina, explicitly because they have blonde hair (same as Ryne, Minfilia, Argos)
furthermore, this would also imply Krile was born blonde and dyes her hair, the source of: * the discrepancy between her apparent brunette state and blonde original FFV Krile, and, * her lack of clarity when channeling compared with Minfilia -- Crystal Mom would like you to BELIEVE it's because she's getting weaker and/or it's just nebulously Krile's fault but no, it's just that she can only really connect with beings that are naturally and currently visibly blonde.
I'm imagining the second the architect slapped some blonde hair on the originally-bald Calca it started speaking, scaring the shit out of him, a reaction everyone else in the building had already had the first time he brought one out.
I still don't get how insane Star wars lore is. Like they have to show me to make me understand why.
Example: how the hutts rule most of the galaxy.
Never understood how they even got there in the first place, sure money is money but how did you get that high up to begin with?
Then I see rotta and it all makes sense. For context most hutts look like jabba, and the babies look like tear drops with a face and arms. But rotta, the baby hutt from the clone wars, grew up to be an absolute tank of a hutt and suddenly it makes sense how they got there
Jabba the Hutt's family tree
(it should be noted that Hutts are able to reproduce on their own OR with a partner)

I feel like in the film there wasn’t a lot of focus on how much it would bother Anakin to have to save the son of his slaver. Like, hate it, really. But the book did better I think. From Chapter 9 of The Clone Wars novelization (2008).
The Huttlet was screaming himself into a frenzy. Ahsoka tried to soothe him. "It's okay, Rotta, you're going home. You're going home to Daddy. Come on, Rotta, stop crying… Master, do you know any Huttese?" Oh yes, I most certainly do. I grew up speaking it. I never wanted to speak it again. "Rotta," Anakin said quietly. "Rotta, pedunkee, da bunk dunko. Sala. Sala." He was a slug. A baby slug, a helpless one, but Anakin knew what he'd grow into. When Rotta sobbed himself to a gulping standstill and squirmed to see where the voice was coming from, Anakin couldn't quite reconcile his feelings. How can I hate a youngling? He's just a victim. He doesn't know what his father is. He just loves him and wants to go home. And Anakin understood that simple hunger better than any Jedi he knew. "Wow," Ahsoka said, "I don't know if he understood you, or if you stunned him into silence, but he's calmed down. He's so cute. He's just like a little toy!”

MANDO AND GROGU SPOILERS AHEAD
I really really really really loved the movie. Like honestly. Haven't checked many reviews or reactions yet because I wanted to go in blind but truthfully I enjoyed the movie and it was just a lot of fun.
Rotta was surprisingly enjoyable i was a bit concerned when I saw him in the trailer but I like how they made his character complex and how hes good. That was a pleasant surprise.
I wasn't expecting this movie to be how the Hutt empire kinda dies (assuming it does after this) but man am I glad that their last real stronghold fell cuz like I hate the Hutts so much. Glad Rotta broke free of those generational chains.
I enjoyed Zeb being there but no Kallus mention 😭😭 "where's his husband" i scream and shout while shaking Dave Filoni. But I understand I think the general public would crashout if that was even hinted out. Star Wars cant be gay they say even though it is super gay.
I loved the fight scenes and lowkey Mando is like terrifying. Like Jedi level eldritch horror terrifying. He can take out as many people as a lone jedi can and like always gets back up always has another weapon its really scary to think about those implications.
This movie felt like an 80s fantasy adventure movie in a way I didnt see coming. The water monsters, the sort of multiple quests to get to the end fight bit, the premise for the adventure and how they get out of things being not the most thought through, the magic cure to heal Mando, puppet characters being main characters. Man we are so back.
It was just really fun. No it didnt add much to the overall star wars plot, no it had nothing to do with thrawn, no they didnt explain all the rebels connections, no it wasnt groundbreaking. But it was a great adventure. And honestly it doesnt have to connect to the greater big plot about thrawn and the rise of the first order (if theyre not retconning that soon) its just a fun adventure with heart and solid plot and music and moments that make you laugh and cry.
Were never gonna get another original trilogy again. Nothing can fully recapture that magic. And it shouldn't. This does however capture the star wars magic of entrancing you into a story and making you feel like a kid again. The group of middle aged men sitting next to me were giggling throughout the whole thing like ten year olds thats the point. The nerdy middle school kids showed up with handmade mando helmets (seriously so impressive) and got so excited when the lights dimmed. Thats the point. Thats the star wars magic and hope.
Semantics over little details is fun but gets us nowhere ultimately. This movie did not go like I theorized it would but I loved it nonetheless. It felt like watching season 1 of mando again. I felt so happy. I think this is one thats gonna age really well.
Ill probably go watch it again and rant some more.
8.5/10
I really need a comic where Rotta and Leia team up and Rotta goes "So...um...sorry about my dad, he sucked" and Leia goes "Yeah, can relate" and Rotta goes "But Bail Organa was a great man!" and Leia tries to mind-wipe him (mind tricks don't work on him so she ultimately ends up telling him Everything but he keeps the secret).
