Sapphire having some quiet reading time!

I decided to just draw random Lars faces 🤭

They're both pink, but they're opposite kinds of pink (Spinel being darker & warmer pink, while Volleyball is lighter and colder).

Already indicative of the fact that, while they have their own, mildly differing ideas and feelings about their tumultuous relationships with Pink Diamond, they still have their fondness & memory of her and their similarities with her in common.

Speaking of which, in their present physical forms, they both have some kind of marking on their face that's connected to their past trauma relating to Pink Diamond.

Volleyball found Pink and her silly nature and tendencies endearing. Spinel was made to appeal & bond with that exact side of Pink.

Volleyball loved watching Pink juggle. Spinel loved juggling for Pink.

so this is garnets first fusion form (shortly after ruby and sapphire met) and you see how the blue (representing sapphire) and the red/pink (representing ruby) and separated? This is because they aren't fully comfortable giving up any parts of themselves, although they like each other. They have not known each other for long and are still learning about who they are both separately and together. And she is also still figuring out if this fusion between two different gems is ok.
