Evidence: DT attended Princess Prom, uses magic without being a sorcerer, was included in ND Stevenson's Picrew princesses (he was making the SPOP characters in Picrew, and labeled a batch "Princesses Part 2" that included DT), Jacob Tobia said something about finally voicing a "nonbinary princess," and we know from the early pitch concepts that DT was originally confirmed a princess and was firmly allied with the Rebellion (and made friends with Scorpia while spying on the Horde).

Counter-evidence: They could have been someone's plus-one to Princess Prom or merely snuck in, we don't know for a fact that ONLY princesses and sorcerers can use magic so they could be an exception, ND Stevenson may have just lumped them in with the princesses without actually considering them one, Jacob Tobia may have been exaggerating or was mistaken about DT being a princess, a lot of the early concepts never made it into the show and many characters were changed heavily from their initial concepts. Additionally, none of the princesses recognize DT or even have any notion that a shapeshifting princess exists, and DT doesn't have a runestone because we would have seen it when Light Hope was balancing the planet.
