Its got a great story. Yes its not even close to the traditional Greek myth, but lets be honest, Hercules in Greek myth is kind of a dick. Herc in the movie is sweet and genuine. And its got some great themes and messages, my favorite being, ‘haters gonna hate, but don’t let it get to you’. Herc in the beginning was a bumbling outcast, but then through perseverance came to find his place.

Its got a great love interest. Meg is snarky, sarcastic and flawed. She’s not impressed by Herc’s show of heroism when they first meet, and she falls for him slowly, after spending time with him and getting to know him. None of that love-at-first sight nonsense. She’s capable, witty and independent plus she and Herc save each other, not the classic D.I.D (damsel in distress).

Its got a great villain. Hades is hilarious and his goals are simple: domination. Hades should NEVER be over looked as a great Disney villian.
