THAT WAS THE MOST INCREDIBLE THING I’VE EVER SEEN OH MY GOD LUKE WAS SO FUCKING AMAZING I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY GAVE HIM THE DARTH VADER TREATMENT AND R2 AND DJFKSAFJDSGFH I AM SO HYPED RN
it makes me sad how little faith anakin has in obi wan. he just automatically assumes that obi wan would turn him into the jedi council if he knew about him and padme (even though obi wan definitely fucking knew and didn’t tell the council like come on anakin you’re not exactly subtle) and how he just assumes that obi wan doesn’t trust him like the rest of the council and doesn’t want him to be a master because of it and because he fears him even though the only reason obi wan didn’t want anakin to be a jedi master is because he didn’t think he was ready, which, he was clearly right about. obi wan tried his fucking hardest to be the best master to anakin and he canonically trusted anakin with his life and was closest to him than anyone in the entire galaxy and anakin repays him by just assuming obi wan fears him and doesn’t trust him and would turn him without a second thought

The Jedi who lost the ones he loved, and loved the ones who caused him loss.
Or like actually this kind of shows the success of the code? Obi-wan does not snap and commit revenge killings of innocent people, Obi-wan does not throw aside every moral teaching he has learned, with each tragic loss he does not become possessive of what he has left.
He continues as a Jedi fully entrenched in the light probably because of that Code he adheres to which includes beliefs about what happens after death that are likely comforting to someone who can literally feel the force.
I think he loved a perfectly reasonable amount for a Jedi and served as a counterpoint to Anakin’s failure (facilitated by Palpatine’s manipulation) to comprehend what danger the Code warns against when it forbids possessive love
