Hey hey, as a librarian, can I just say don’t pace yourself at the library. I get a lot of customers saying “oh I shouldn’t get too many books out at once” but like you should!!!! Max out your card, take everything we have on a subject you’re interested in, make a book fort in your home. We love that shit! It doesn’t matter if you read them or not; just take them for an adventure and bring them back whenever they’re due!

Just a quick shout-out to the little sigh Barbossa gives when Jack stabs him at the Isla de Muerta. He gets so much credit for the way he rolls his eyes right before he shoots Pintel earlier in the movie, but this little sigh deserves some recognition too.

one of my favorite this american life segments of late is about the people who played orchestra pit for phantom of the opera on broadway and how, like, a sizeable majority of them had literally been playing the show since it opened in 1988 (on broadway. I know it opened in 86 on the west end, you random pedants, but I am specifically talking about broadway musicians) because their contracts stipulated that they'd have jobs throughout the show's entire run... but nobody anticipated that phantom would become the longest-running broadway show of all time.

This is the kind of thing I respond with when my conservative relatives (several of whom are cops) complain about movements to defund the police.

What if the general population of earth never finds out that Grace was forced onto the mission?
