I'm 35, married with 2 kids (and 2 cats,) and finally trying my hand at being active here on Tumblr. I've been obsessing over Pirates of the Caribbean since 2003, and writing fanfiction since 2004 (back on good ol' FF.net) and more recently on AO3.
LadySeabird because I just think seagulls are neat, thanks to some family vacations to the beaches of southern Maine when I was of an impressionable age. (Feeding them stale cheerios in a Target parking lot in Indiana just isn't the same as tossing leftover fries out the back of a beachside restaurant.)
What might you find here?
Pirates of the Caribbean
Psych and other TV shows from that era
Photography-related things (especially film/analog photography!)
Miscellaneous writing, fandom, and mom things
Plays/musicals/theatre things
Beyond that, your guess is as good as mine

So obviously I need to go to bed but what would have happened if something *accidentally* stabbed Davy Jones' heart? Like the ship hit a reef and a random axe fell off the wall and landed on it? (Is the Flying Dutchman the captain of itself?) Or what if a seagull was on the Isla Cruces and snatched it while the chest was open and dropped the heart on a sharp rock from way up in the sky? (The crew would hate their useless cursed seagull captain.) Or what if Davy Jones stabbed his own heart??
ok. if you'll allow me this indulgence. glancing at this post and assigning my jiz fics to them:
they're perfect / they have date nights three times a week: sun hits the water
they hate each other: any means
they're married / they haven't spoken in 15 years: so hunts the shrike. yeah both
they're divorced: i have not braved this one yet (divorce was exceedingly rare and public in the 1720s!) but consider the batshit roman divorce au i have not written where they are, indeed, divorced. and also in ancient rome
they're pining, it's unrequited / it's requited: steadfast & dependable, the dance we dance, and in the cool shade for a hat trick
they're star-crossed / they're meant to be: to the ends of the earth
they're doomed by the narrative: a heavy burden
they love each other / they've never held hands: domestic virtues
they won't stop making out at parties: the entire premise of both ever punctual and take your pleasure tbh
they can't look each other in the eye: falling for you

Wanna know the stupid way I injured myself this week? I whacked my knee on a toilet paper dispenser. It bled, and now I also have a bruise.
Wanna know the STUPIDEST part? This is the second time in my life that I've lost a battle to a toilet paper dispenser. In 7th grade I was at a track meet and cut my hand on one.
Maybe this can be my new fun fact now that I can't use "never been stung by a bee" anymore.

I, too, have a few Norribeth fics out there! There's only a handful here, but sharing them for shameless self-promotion and because there has been so much lovely Norribeth content lately and I'd like to contribute.
Genuine Fondness and Other Liabilities - rated T, 35k words (16 chapters)
Elizabeth accepts Norrington's proposal. But even in a universe without interference from Will Turner or Jack Sparrow, things go catastrophically wrong shortly thereafter. James is injured and it's mostly Elizabeth's fault. The aftermath of that incident leads them both to re-evaluate what they mean to each other, and ultimately, each has to win the other back.
Something Other Than Misery - rated T, 2.4k words
The morning after James Norrington leaves Tortuga with Elizabeth Swann and Jack Sparrow, he wakes up on the Black Pearl.
A Rainy Night - rated G, 1.8k words
Captain James Norrington stops by the Swann residence one evening, drenched from a rainstorm. Governor Swann brings him inside to sit by the fire. This is a cute, fluffy one!
Respite - rated T, 2.3k words
James is a guest at one of Governor Swann's dinner parties, but a headache forces him to withdraw from the festivities before the evening is over. Elizabeth thinks her father's guests are boring, so she also leaves the party to bring James some tea, which leads to a bit of conversation, some light banter, and a hint of flirting. Another fluffy one!
There's nothing like getting together with a longtime friend and watching my kids and her kids play together like siblings (i.e. it ends in a three-way meltdown) and we're both looking at each other like, "Ugh, yikes, sorry my kid is acting crazy, he's tired, sorry, no you're fine, I totally get it, obviously."
I recently had an interesting conversation with my friend about AI, and how the older generation seems so much more accepting of it than the younger generations.
For context, this friend is my age, a small business owner who also consults for other small businesses, has a decent social media presence, and is also a mom. She shares my feelings of being against generative AI, though she does use it to create/format agendas for business meetings and finds it helpful to search and sort photos on her phone when she's working on a social media post (she gave the example of finding all her photos of coffee shops when she was working on a reel about local coffee shops) but uses Canva for graphics and paid a designer to create her business logo.
Anyway, she told me about how her mom didn't understand how AI was different from anything else. So my friend suggested that maybe older generations (boomers) have already had to accept SO MUCH new technology (computers, smart phones, the internet, social media, email, etc.) that those who are so easily accepting of it probably see it as just the "next new thing," especially if they're not more tech savy.
Those of us in the younger generations who have grown up with technology, who really understand it, can see and feel the difference between AI and other useful technology. And that really makes a lot of sense to me. My parents work in technology, so they're fairly "with it," and they're both wary of the whole AI thing.
Anyway. Just thought that was an interesting perspective from a friend who pretty much always knows what she's talking about.

I was tagged by @soldierorking! Thanks for the tag!!
last song: I think it was Roaring 20's by Panic! at the Disco
currently watching: I'm re-watching Abbott Elementary (unless you mean currently at this exact moment my kids have an episode of "Creature Cases" playing)
current obsession: Pirates of the Caribbean (obviously,) also my flower garden which is finally actually looking like a flower garden!
currently reading: I just finished reading Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke. (That's the THIRD book I've read in 2026 which is an incredible achievement given my terrible track record of roughly 0 in recent years.) Also, The Waves Will Carry You by @bowditch :)
currently working on: Writing an actual novel! I'm 6,000 words in and my goal is 80,000 by the end of the year (optimistically.) And a few PotC fics, of course.
last web search: "how painful are honey bee stings compared to other bees" - because I was stung by a honeybee this week (my first bee sting ever) and honestly it wasn't as bad as people sometimes make bee stings sound, so I was just curious if honeybees are known for being mild stingers (kinda, compared to wasps)
no pressure tag: Not sure who has done this already, so whoever wants to join in!
My little flower garden is actually starting to look like a flower garden! I have a zinnia, some cosmos, and some marigolds blooming so far, with more on the way! (Ignore the weeds. Those will come out when the air is a bit less smoky around here.)
