While I 100% agree that there are a lot of rappers who have misogynistic lyrics, it always feels deeply disingenuous when white/nonblack people call it out as a means of defense for talking shit about it as a genre while still slutshaming female rappers for rapping about sex. On top of that, they'll say stuff like "oh yeah I prefer rock/pop punk/heavy metal" as though rock musicians and their fans have historically been accepting of women in the scene, and have always made it a safe space for women *looks at Tina Bell, Hayley Williams, and the women involved in the Riot/Sista Grrrl movement who literally formed those movements in response to the white men who made them feel unsafe*. I guess misogyny is only okay when white men are the ones spewing it.

we're not ever gonna make this website a safe space for black people or have a substantial black user base anymore unless y'all (non blacks obv) come to grips with the fact that y'all hold internal biases whether some of y'all be blatantly racist and hide behind your disabilities/mental illnesses queerness/transness or it's something as simple as if you see a black face on your dash you immediately swipe up

thankfully most of us would rather see this place burn to the ground than hand over more information to staff so this kind of thing isn't going to do any good

FTR if we did this anyway and provided people with the bare essentials to live the crime rate would go down anyway. Because they wouldnt need to steal or sell drugs for money. And less people would do drugs because theyd be less stressed about not being able ti afford the essentials to live

Black woman invents or popularises a phrase -> it enters the vernacular and circulates widely amongst Black and nonblack people -> people removed from the phrase's initial context read it too literally, do not interpret it with sensitivity, assume that the ideas expressed when people use it are shallow / "over"-sexualised / problematic in some way or another that mirrors their feelings about Black people as a whole -> there is a backlash where a supposedly more 'thoughtful,' 'subversive,' etc. alternative to the initial phrase is offered, implying that the initial phrase contained none of that complexity within it -> rinse & repeat
