Tbh you just have to laugh atp. That classic Maya Angelou laugh she wrote about in her poem, that laugh of resilience that keeps us going 🤣 bc trying to make sense of it is only going to drive you insane. That's why the shit was upsetting me last month. I had to accept that I was fighting a losing battle, that some people legit will happily choose racism (without calling it that), to protect their own comfort and egos. No amount of me retorting with a logical argument was going to stop someone willingly choosing racism for funsies.

It's like (well, idk if you're American) when you see somebody with Trump paraphernalia on and you roll your eyes because you know that joker is so racist that there's no logic that will work, because the racism they believe in is so illogical that reason can't counter it. At least not if you're someone that isn't a part of the demographics whose lives they value.

The sexuality of a police officer is cop.

The gender of a police officer is cop.

When you become the enforcer and protector of capital, you are making the deal to be slightly favored by the system over others like you, in exchange for being its servant. Your solidarity is with the system that you serve, even if it hates you.

I am a father of two children 👨‍👧‍👦 from Gaza 🇵🇸, currently living through extremely difficult humanitarian conditions after losing my home due to the war 💔, and I am now displaced far from my original place of residence.

Life here is filled with daily challenges 😔, especially when it comes to providing basic needs such as food 🍞, water 💧, and care for my children.

My children are everything I have in this life ❤️, and I am doing my best to provide them with the minimum level of safety and food, but the current situation is very hard, and sometimes I cannot even provide them with a proper meal during the day 🍽️.

I also want to be able to provide my children with their school needs 🎒, such as supplies, stationery ✏️, and basic materials that help them continue their education despite the difficult conditions 📚.

I am only writing this because I have reached a point where I can no longer manage on my own 😞. Therefore, I am asking for help from anyone who is able to support, even with a small amount 💵, as it may help feed my children or ease part of our suffering.

I am Jaafar from Gaza. I am currently in northern Gaza, and we have not yet been displaced to the south. Things are very difficult here — the cost of moving to the south is $1,000, and a single tent also costs $1,000, if we can even find a place in southern Gaza. The south is overcrowded, and renting a plot of land costs $1,000 per month, or even more depending on the area. 🙂😢
