I imagine that, because you can substitute blood for egg in baking, you could substitute egg for blood in casting.

That technically works but you can't use chicken eggs. Not sapient. You'd need a corvid, human, or a dog.

right, that's what I meant. You can't just use a dog for a spell that needs blood, but a dog's egg will work fine.

Do the eggs have to be isolated or otherwise extracted from the dog? Can I just have an unspayed dog with me and disappear the eggs inside it while casting? Is this considered unethical? What if I'm an evil necromancer about it? (affects union and insurance fees mostly)

They generally don't use human blood in baking and pudding and the such; the go to is pig, and I think cow is sometimes used, dog blood should be fine for baking.

coconut water is usable as an emergency blood infusion, would it work for spellcasting in a pinch?

of course. But don't mix it up with coconut milk, which is a different thing.

That can make a good replacement for eggs when baking, but it has no necromantic uses. I mean, unless you're trying to resurrect a coconut.

I'll never forget the girl I helped outside the queer event. She was visibly shitty drunk, sitting on a low stone wall, looking sort of confused and lost. I knew that I had to talk to her as soon as I saw her. She told me that she was waiting on her girlfriend. Her girlfriend was supposed to be peeing in a portapotty nearby but, after talking to her about whatever came to mind for a while, nobody came out of the portapotty. After joking that it must have been serious for the second time, I checked, and it was empty. She wanted to go find her, but seemed worried about missing her, so I just sat with her for a while. I gave her a cigarette, and we just talked. When in doubt, stay put and wait to be found, but I wanted her to have company while she waited. We talked about drunk people stuff, it was nice. After a few minutes, the girl I was talking to said "Oh", got up, and started puking into the grass. It happens. I held her braids while she puked, apologizing (it happens) and rubbed her back, reassuring her that I didn't mind at all. Internally, I was laughing at the idea that it would bother me, I'm trained for this sort of thing. A woman walking up the sidewalk saw me, in a dress and heels, holding another girl's hair, rubbing her back, and reassuring her that it was okay and immediately charged over, saying "I'm a medic!!". She tried to ask the girl currently vomiting if she was okay. It happens. The girl said blarghhhh and "Yeah, I'm sorry." I laughed and said, "She will be once she gets it all out", and looked her in the eye while I talked about how everyone pukes like this sometimes, haven't you???? I'll never forget the way that woman went from "protecting girl from man" to "we are helping" simply because I did not prioritize her first reaction. I gave her room to get over herself and a different, more useful way to react. She started taking cues from me, reassuring the vomiting girl that yeah, we've all been there, don't worry at all. I thought it was funny that she went from treating me like a man to asking me if she needs water (yes, thank you, go away). Vomiting girl's girlfriend showed up, at which point the "medic" left, and seemed. Disinterested? It was upsetting how little she seemed to care. She seemed annoyed, honestly. I didn't get the sense that she had been frantically trying to find her partner. I think all the time about how I had to be perfect, trained to act calmly in a crisis, to be safe enough to not be guarded against. How that duty was handed over to the first cis girl to arrive. And how I was the person who most effectively took care of that poor, sad, drunk girl. I hope she's found someone better.

weird how many cultures had a term for “assigned male, but dressed and presented as female and used women’s names and pronouns, but don’t worry they’re NOT actually women, or men, just some third worse thing” and how few had a word for “assigned male, but lived as a woman and was respected.” curious, might be some part of a larger issue at play here.
