A corner for cartoons

If we take other args into consideration, it's not unheard of for a Minecraft world to start getting haunted by it's previous player. Maybe after seeing the King, d3rlord immediately died, his 'passing out for a few seconds' being his death and then the events happening as he's in the world as a ghost.

Other ideas that I saw pop up are mostly around timetravel or computers getting duplicated or dimensions crossing, which, you do you.

Personally I think the world they are on disregards time and space entirely, which is fair to assume I think, there is a god in our computer right now. Imagine it like a string where you pinch two specific parts in the middle and make them touch; two specific moments in time being combined.

I suppose he didn't anticipate d3rlord to put up such a fight for a person he doesn't know, however. Whatever power is forcing time to bend like this can't be fully controlled, which again, fair, it's time. Bending it in the first place is messy and for a person he thought would leave to actually COME BACK was not planned, messing up his anticipated parts of events.

He underestimated d3rlord's love and promptly paid the price.

Which leads to d3rlord destroying his own mind with the king in it, dying in the process in front of his screen as he writes his final message. Which leaves me asking:

How did the computer then get into the locker?

Of course, of COURSE someone could have found his body and maybe there was a final note that they please put all his belongings into a specific locker, righting the timeline, essentially his death having never been preventable in the first place; dead before Avery even opened Minecraft.

For the sake of my breaking heart, I just headcanon d3rlord having passed out and carted to the hospital.

There still would be a note for whoever found him, steps to take and so him just being comatose the entire time as Avery is walking through the horrors with a chance of them maybe meeting in the future.

Avery is one determined little guy, I wouldn't put it past him to go look in the real world and then getting slapped in the face by the fact that the Derek he's looking for has been hospitalized for multiple months.
