something here in how Evil Ragatha is basically yelling Ragatha's fears at her, and then Evil Jax is shown complimenting Jax with identical camera framing. the parallel would imply that "i look good in this" is Jax's fear. which is true and funny
My apparently wild and radical take is that trans women can literally just dress like women without much "accomodation"
"but what about hiding your-" I guarantee you women's clothes already does that, and you need it less than you think
"but what about adding padding to-" there are women's clothes that do that, also you need it less than you think
"but I don't think women's clothes will accommodate my proportions" I'm guessing that they will, and if you've been in HRT for any noticeable amount of time, they will likely fit better than men's clothes
Like I had my whole "femboy guide" pre transition, but that was a different vibe entirely.
If you want my advice on how to dress now, it would literally just be:
Take what you currently wear
Look at the woman's cut version of it
Size it properly
Wear it the correct way (eg, use the waist that women's clothes are made for)
There's a lot of clothes that's made "specifically for" trans women. Aside from very specific things (like tucking) I think most of it is garbage. Not to mention the absolute horrible ways that they're often marketed, rolling in trans women's everyday clothes with crossdressers and fetish gear.
When a trans woman first transitions, I've found that they're immediately BOMBARDED with "fashion advice" that is A, extremely othering and sometimes dysphoria inducing, and B, oftentimes outright garbage and uses old school crossdressing/drag advice that often fails to account for the effects of HRT, or doesn't come off as a more casual look.
I do think there's value in guides that are more in the zone of "hey, you've only been taught about men's fashion and clothes your whole life, here's the basics of women's fashion to catch you up to speed" but I've yet to find one that doesn't devolve into a weird "hide everything about your body, tran" kind of tone.
Quick preemptive Q&A
Are you saying that trans women CAN'T wear men's clothes and/or be butch?
No, I'm saying that women's clothes DOES fit and accommodate trans women's proportions, but most people refuse to believe that.
So you're a gender conformist then? Just molded to the binary system of fashion?
The last thing society wants a trans woman to be, is a woman. The most radical thing you can be is yourself, and sometimes yourself is a woman.
But what if I don't want to dress in women's clothes?!?
Good for you, then don't
Fuckit, here's my bullet point fashion guide for trans women. This is stuff that applies to ALL women but trans women specifically will not have learned earlier in childhood.
Your waist is high. Higher than that. It's over your belly button. Yes it'll feel high waisted. Yes it'll also feel good. If your hips are getting wider, this is where pants will try to sit naturally anyways, and anything else will be uncomfortable.
On that note, the lack of pockets on women's pants actually does have a functional undertone. Having pockets at the waistline creates a VERY uncomfortable "pivot point" between your stomach and your legs, meaning if you put your keys or phone in pockets of women's pants, they're gonna jab you in the stomach.
THAT SAID, if you DO want pockets, I'm not gonna stop you. But get cargo pants!!! Women's cargo pants look SO nice, and thigh pockets are a godsend. They're more functional and more comfortable with growing hips.
Yes, women's cuts actually do make a fair bit of difference, and yes, you will fit and look more feminine in a women's cut. Even if it's a women's cut of jeans and a t shirt.
"unisex" clothing is oftentimes just men's clothing rebranded. I'm sorry but it's true. A lot of it will drape over you in boxy ways, since the "visual size" of a men's cut is almost entirely defined by the shoulders and upper body. This looks bad if you have wide shoulders or large boobs. It looks REALLY bad if you have wide shoulders AND large boobs, like I do. (Side note, the solution to degendering this should probably be something along the lines of giving the two cuts neutral names, like "shoulder cut" and "waist cut")
Bra sizing is a mystic art. No chart, calculator, or online tool will get you anywhere close to just trying on a variety of them yourself. They're a necessary starting point, but they're not going to get it right. Doesn't have to be an actual fitting, doesn't have to involve another human being, just grab a couple and try them all on. Hell, order them online and return the ones that don't fit if you're too nervous about being seen at all.
Don't make any fashion goal to "hide" anything (apart from tucking tbh, but tucking is less dramatic than a lot of other stuff imo). This isn't even primarily a self confidence point (although that's a great side effect) it's a point that if you spend too much effort or emphasis in "hiding" something, the rest of the fit is going to fall away from you or be guided by that in restricting ways. It also might call a lot of unnecessary attention to the exact thing you're trying to hide- and oftentimes, the only reason you wanted to hide it is because you're overly self conscious about something that's falling within normal variation. Choker to hide an Adam's apple? Now you're both calling attention to your neck, and are limited to outfits that work with that choker. Too much stuff over the shoulders to hide them? Now you're limited to things that cover the shoulders, and are also adding more padding or material to them. This point is deprogramming. The fashion choices that trans women are having imposed upon them to look more cis are not only a result of cis bullying, but oftentimes achieve the opposite effect than what people want.
Oh I actually learned some great stuff for this!
I usually buy mens shoes for more "useful" shoes, but there are ways to get women's styles:
Find a brand with unisex sizing conventions, eg, something with British sizing system. They'll have availability of all their styles in their full size ranges- if not in a store, you can try a different style in a store and then order the style you want online. Blundstones are a FANTASTIC example.
If you want flats and heels- Nordstrom rack, Ross, and similar "overflow stock" stores are a blessing. They literally have fancy shoes in a greater size range than you would get them at a full price store, and at a huge discount.
oh great they of twin runes wisdom
who do you think did the patience soul attack in that solo [or duo, noelle could be hidden] fight against kris in the trailer
Lemme put my initial bullshit take here
whoâs gonna tell tumblr that executive dysfunction is more than Not Doing Things?
okay
these are the executive functions. impairment of these functions is executive dysfunction
Oh.
OH
Girl, help. None of my executives are functioning
The Most IMPORTANT Dynamic in TADC is Zooble and Jax.
Yes, the two rage-baiters who have the most unserious beef are actually really important. No, Iâm not kidding. Now hear me outâŚ
Zooble and Jax are very different people that seem completely incompatible. And yet, there are also several moments in the show where they have similar opinions, civil conversations, or even what could be harmless banter. Their relationship is stuck at a crossroads between enemies and friends, this weird limbo that sits in an interesting gray area that I donât see a lot of in other media. So, when either of them could easily cross a line and destroy any semblance of connection⌠why donât they? While it might have to do with keeping an engaging and entertaining dynamic, it could also be telling us something about the overall message of the show.
Iâm going to be covering three topics: self-expression, dialogue, and dynamics. It will be completely episode nine leak-free, and I will leave episode numbers for all the moments that I reference since this meta wonât be totally chronological. This will be quite long (as my brainrot has only gotten worse since episode seven) but I hope this meta can give you a new and interesting perspective on my favorite relationship in The Amazing Digital Circus!

Spent some time reflecting on the second post here, and I think I understand why fandom folks behave like that. In general, when people see things in the world that make us uncomfortable, we often automatically assume that those things are âbadâ, and that it is our duty to try to fix those things to make the âbadâ go away. This is itself not a negative trait to have â after all, discomfort helps encourage us to stay physically clean, and a core goal of society is to collectively achieve a reasonable degree of comfort â but itâs also a trait that must be utilized carefully, because sometimes things that make you uncomfortable exist for more complicated reasons than you may think.
When it comes to fandom culture specifically, I think that the recent online vitriol towards indie creators stems from both the desire to âfixâ the things that make us uncomfortable, as well as the anxiety that develops when we feel powerless to enact real change. On the surface, it seems weird for internet lefties to spend more effort bullying small creators than large corporations, because those small creators are often making art that is more personal (and oftentimes politically-progressive) than mass-produced corporate media. Peel away the top layers, though, and youâll find that itâs about a desire for control. The mega-corporations wonât bother to create art that will speak to you on a personal level* because that will NEVER be cost-effective, so trying to pressure them to change feels as useless as an ant vowing to crush a mountain beneath its feet; the indie creators, however, are individuals and small groups, and an ant COULD theoretically annoy them into âmaking better decisionsâ.
It sounds logical, at least at first; the problem, of course, is that it isnât sound logic. The indie creators are small enough that you could theoretically bully them into changing their ways, yes, but this strategy forgets that the creators are trying to realize something personal to them, not to you, and that they only have a limited amount of effort and resources they can apply to the project before they lose that passion to work on it. Oftentimes, the perceived flaws in the work are completely reasonable when you consider the context around them: for context about the two creators mentioned in the original post:
Toby Fox (creator of Undertale and Deltarune) was asked about the lack of official localization for his games into other languages besides English and Japanese, and he explained that he currently has no plans to translate his games at this time. The process of localizing a script is an amount of work equivalent to writing a full new game, which is time-consuming for a largely-independent creator. The games are available in English and Japanese because Fox is fluent in those languages, so he can write the English script himself, hire someone to write the Japanese localization, and then edit the Japanese script himself to maintain accuracy. In response to this, some fans insisted Fox was discriminating against fans from Latin America and China by not producing an official translation in Spanish, Portuguese or Chinese, which ended up growing into accusations of Fox being outright racist.
Gooseworx (creator of The Amazing Digital Circus) has wound up embroiled in two recent online controversies. In the first, she responded to a question about the finale by saying that the showâs central characters are Pomni and Jax, which resulted in fans getting outraged at her alleged âfavoritismâ towards certain characters in her own show. In the second, she responded to news of the finale leaking with a post that said âEh, who cares?â, prompting accusations of her devaluing the work of the animators. After this, she wrote a post indicating that she had lost her enthusiasm for TADC, which prompted further discourse over whether or not she was attempting to âguilt-tripâ the rabid factions of the fanbase.
Weâve also seen similar things occur with other popular indie projects: Dana Terrace (Knights of Guinevere) was accused of transphobia for confirming that a character on the show was not transgender, for example, and Iâve seen some efforts to spark discourse against indie successes such as Dropout.tv (âtheyâre just trying to scam their fans!â) and Markiplierâs Iron Lung (ânot a real indie movie because he spent $2 million on it!â). In some of these cases, the problem is an understandable frustration that the creator simply canât resolve on their own, while in others the problem lies in the fans themselves. Meanwhile, megacorporations do have the resources to improve and diversify their work, but often choose not to do so for financial or political reasons: Paramount and WB have been quietly killing their animation divisions, for instance, and Disneyâs begun winding down their pride-themed Marvel Voices comics out of fear of conservative backlash**.
In many ways, I think that the logic thatâs on display here is the same mindset thatâs been causing the American left to cannibalize itself for years now: weâre so desperate to feel like weâre fighting for a righteous cause that we start throwing punches at anyone within reach, rather than waiting to throw down with a real enemy that seems unassailable. âThe conservatives are a monolith, and too far gone to be reasoned with,â we rationalize, âso we must make our voices heard to those allies that will listen!â And then, if those allies arenât with us all the way, theyâre recast as enemies in disguise that must be destroyed to keep our movement pure. Weâre left to rip each other to pieces in the glorified shadow of that conservative monolith, a monument unassailed by hands brave enough to learn just how fragile it really is.
Elaborate metaphors aside, there is a simple solution to this: shut up, listen, then think. If someoneâs decisions make you uncomfortable, think long and hard about why that is before you start writing callout posts and organizing a pitchfork brigade. Sometimes, youâll find that the decisions are reasonable; other times, youâll find that theyâre not. Either way, nobodyâs forcing you to like an indie creator, and youâre free to choose whether or not you still want to engage with their work.
Whatever you do, remember that the work in question isnât really made for you, itâs being made to share with you. Art isnât a restaurant, itâs a potluck: creators bring the stuff theyâve made to the table, and you are welcome to eat what youâd like of it. If thereâs bits of stuff you donât like in the dish, youâre allowed to pick those out and not eat âem, and youâre even free to express your personal distaste for that. Maybe your comments will even be taken into consideration! But if you choose to instead throw your plate across the room, yell at the creator for not making the recipe to your tastes, and try to rally others to do the same⌠well, youâll just look like an asshole, thereâs a strong chance that the creator might not bring anything next time, and youâre still gonna wind up hungry. And whereâs the comfort in that?
pokemon is hilarious. its like.

I randomly remembered a funny situation I had once
Thank you for so much traction on this post, itâs now my most popular one ever! Crazy how it took just one day
Some things I wanna make clear because Iâm seeing some said repeatedly in the reblogs:
- Iâm no longer friends with Friend 2 and I havenât been for a while, at least couple months. Most of my friend group cut off contact with him too (including Friend 1) after many situations that just made him look creepy, including not being able to set any boundaries (most tries ended up with him throwing a tantrum)
- a big chunk of people is suggesting polyamory in the reblogs, but I wouldnât expect him to get even one gf, let alone two, given how he finds scared women hot and his favorite trope is âreversed mommyâ situation (punishing the woman for dominating you)
- lots of people are also suggesting itâs an egg kinda situation, and I obviously canât say yes or no to that, but I wanna mention how he once said he wouldnât mind bottoming for a trans girl and how itâs one of the reasons he considers himself bi. Do with that info what you want
- Friend 1 is trans. Also weâre friends to this day and I love hanging out with her, sheâs a diva
- I made that comic because I randomly remembered this situation and I suddenly realized this was the first time in my life when I felt like my identity was being fetishized right in front of me. Thatâs just my personal opinion though

Hi I'm American movie director, here's my idea for a live action movie based on a widely beloved series: Ok so a team of US soldiers are transported to another world.
Bold new direction for the zelda CDI series
I was gonna make a joke about sonic, then remembered the sonic movies, then I was gonna make a joke about pacman, and remembered pixels. So really the point here is that the United States is Satan.
