hihi chi! i wanna ask- have you been to a motegi race before? and how is it like for someone who say is not in residence in japan to buy motegi tix? i browsed the website but it says people outside of japan can't buy tix through the motegi circuit web...?
if you have any insights you can share, pls do! π
hi angel!!!! usual caveat about how this is just my personal experience etc but i've bought tickets for both motegi and suzuka through their joint official ticketing platform MobilityStation <3 as is my tendency to ramble i've stuck the rest under the cut
the english version of the site isn't perfect but it's workable, i've seen similar questions about buying tickets from outside japan but i've been able to access the site from different countries so far without trouble \o/
the hitch is that you'll be asked to create an account at checkout, which asks for a japan phone number and address; for the address part you can just select overseas, but you do have to input a japanese phone number - luckily it doesn't do the annoying thing of requiring a verification code or restricting it to one-phone-number-per-account so i've seen reddit comments saying they've just used their japan hotel number/address and it worked??? to my knowledge i've never seen/heard them checking ID on track (unlike the way they do at idol concerts jfc) unless it's a student/underage ticket then i guess they might check your age?? i'm not sure how strict the site is re: cards that are issued internationally but it lists visa/mastercard/american express as acceptable payment methods!
i would also recommend picking electronic ticket over physical ticket - it lets you change your seat within the same category or put it up for resale (useful for me as the world's most indecisive person), also less easy to lose than an expensive piece of printed paper that you have to pick up from the convenience store....
also i prefer buying from mobilitystation rather than the motogp site because idk how it works for other circuits but i like how it lets me pick the exact seat number and corresponding view! this playlist by motegi showing each category's view was also useful in deciding between sections
the other thing is that the motogp site shows the categories like V1-V5 etc but on mobilitystation you get to further choose from specific rider/team grandstands? general seat info here, more fan seat info here.......imo japan cares quite a bit about εΏζ΄εΈ/cheering sections so that's another thing to consider if you're keen!
closing out with some musings but that grandstand sandwich....... also this is bez's first grandstand outside of italy.......
not to mention jp fans were kind of ??? at the GLARING ABSENCE of an ai ogura supporter section this year considering MANY REASONS (like hello????????????) (lowkey fueled rumours about honda being maddd about that yamaha move but i'm likeeeeee/and i could be wrong but if it was only ever going to be the satellite seat on offer/if at all...) ANYWAY the fans have sort of claimed Z4/90 degrees corner as the unofficial ai ogura fan section this year
