Taking a bold stance here- I would not kick, bat, or otherwise interact with the Christian baby in an athletic context, for any amount of money. "Christian Baby" is a contradiction in terms, they're incapable of meaningful adherence to an ideology at that point. "Baby of Christian Parents," sure, and it has my sympathies, but I have no compelling reason to hit such an unfortunate being with a bat. And in fact I'm going to go a step further here and say that in this scenario I would go so far as to actually try to catch the "Christian" baby. Like every other right-thinking adult with a child in his power I would attempt to shield it from the senselessly violent context it was born into. But for all my lofty idealizing I think I would probably fail. Because in this hypothetical I start in a batting position, holding a bat, and I would have to adjust very quickly once I realized what was being thrown at me, and frankly, the individuals who try to pivot in response to a realization about the moral reality of their current position rarely manage to do so quickly enough to address the inciting incident. That's fine. I can be a good little square-jawed moral realist about my chances here. If you balk from your principles the first time you end up smeared in the gore of an infant you couldn't save what principles did you ever actually have
