The au is a pretty simple role-reversal scenario between kevin and chapman - kevin is the ghoul and chapman is the vampire

Here, instead of getting ghouled by while investigating a murder commited by a tremere kindred, chapman gets drained by this beast-frenzying tremere murderer, who in the last ditch effort to ghoul him and sweep everything under the rug accidentally embraces him

After the embrace he got "vampire witness protection"-ed: a botched messy embrace like that demanded a lot of additional cleanup, such as: having him move to a different place, get employed elsewhere and most importantly - be declared missing, all of which required a LOT of tremere kindred and ghouls scraping every leftover bit of "guy chapman" there used to be

All local tremere REALLY don't like him, even years after the embrace he is seen as an outsider, someone who is not even supposed to be here, a dirty stain on his sire's and domitor's reputation (who was also briefly hated but hey, easier to despise a stupid new guy than an elder)

He isn't outright SHUNNED simply because having a ghoul dispenser in the police force, monitoring any and everything that happens in the area is really useful

More than anything he hates 2 things: being out of control in any given situation, therefore heavily relies on his exceptionally high auspex skills and some casual dominate here and there and any reminders of his mortal life (hates his human name and prefers to be referred to with the camarilla one)
