Anyone junior servant, regardless of gender, would be known by their first name only (and in some cases, the names given to them when they joined the household rather than the one they were born with)

The whole thing is fascinating. Horrifying much of the time, but fascinating.

As for an organisation for butlers, back in 1938's "The Code of the Wooster" PG Wodehouse has Jeeves say at one point:

“I was thinking of the Junior Ganymede, sir. It is a club for gentlemen’s personal gentlemen in Curzon Street, to which I have belonged for some years.”

Alongside the general camaraderie and social conviviality of any such club, it notably contains the large Book, which records the background, reputation, and general habits of every eligible gentleman in the country, more importantly including candid comments and advice about them, dutifully recorded by current and previous servants.

I've seen at least one fun notion which suggested that all the butlers and valets from fiction are likely members of the international branches of the Junior Ganymede: Bunter from the Lord Peter Wimsey stories, Magersfontein Lugg from Campion, Alfred from Batman, Jarvis from the Avengers, Nestor from Tintin, Parker from Thunderbirds, Geoffrey from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and so on.

she only appears briefly in batman #12, but her training is stated or shown to have included suturing wounds and hiring assassins on the dark web (i am assuming these are not typical professional tasks for butlers).

in batman #11 (below) the society's logo is shown to be a skull with crossed keys in place of bones and a mask over the skull's eye-holes, further reinforcing that this is a "butlers for superheroes" thing:

so this is literally, as far as we know, a secret society of butlers trained to serve... batman... for the plot purpose of there being another butler trained to serve batman. like there are maybe 10 or 15 other possible employers for the society of the midnight key if they also work for supervillains?

and verity is specifically described as "born for this," implying that membership is based on one's antecedents. it also appears to be implied that alfred arranged for verity to be raised as a super-butler specifically to replace him when he passed away one day and this is just like. not commented on further.

Did Bruce read the papers? Why would Hallucination Alfred presumably coming solely from Bruce's knowledge and interpretation of Alfred suddenly know personal details about Verity who Bruce seemingly knew nothing about?

Is Verity now an extension of Bruce's hallucinations? Is she even real?

These hallucinations are getting really concerning about how Bruce is actually doing here.

Are we supposed to be picking up other hints or Bruce's behavior not matching with other characters perceived reality? Is something genuinely going on with Bruce and his POV is unreliable?
