Had to repost this as this was the story of my life... I have spent enough time and energy letting people pick my brain through the years without getting anything in return.. At the time, I was more than happy to share my knowledge and contacts with people as I always assumed that money aside, I'd get repaid in kind... I've watched some people go on to make successes off the back of my advice and contact sharing and the joke is- I CANT EVEN GET THEM TO REPLY AN EMAIL OR A PHONE CALL.. 🤣.. I am not jealous but I used to very disappointed and many times I've been upset.. I mean so upset that I've cried and had sleepless nights...WORD... now I say USED TO because now I don't even pay attention to what others are doing... I just run my own race, safe in the knowledge that God who gave me this brain and the opportunities is the same God who will send my own successes... HOWEVER, what you won't catch me doing is engaging in any small talk/ "pick my brain " sessions - NO SIRRRR!!!!I'm just not WILLING or ABLE to do that anymore.... so if you want to pick my brains, let's start the conversation with "what's your hourly rate" and then take things from there! THANK you! Sending a SHOUT OUT TO ALL THOSE CREATIVES/ STYLISTS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS Who feel sidelined and jaded- not to worry peeps! Embrace the "GAP" and everything else will fall back into place.. forget the past and concentrate on the futureee- just because those e-vites seem to have gone walkies don't mean you don't matter no more👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾 (at Manchester, United Kingdom)
