gotta be honest I think a REAL juicy dynamic is when someone has a True Love and a Soulmate and they are two different people
see this person is the love of my life I would follow them anywhere every day is brighter for having them in it. and THIS bastard shares a soul with me we'll find each other in every universe and understand each other in ways no other living being could. neither of us are particularly thrilled about this

I'm begging of you, please don't take my man
girls night
so I read the article and the story is both less and more insane than it sounds.
basically, there's been an ants' nest near a vent shaft of this abandoned Soviet bunker for decades. the nest spilled over into the bunker itself at some point once it was abandoned and there was no way for the ants to make their way back up to the nest, no queen but a constant supply of new colony members raining down from above, and no source of food in the bunker other than the corpses of their fellow ants.
fast forward to some scientists looking for bats that stumble on what's basically a post-apocalyptic ant society. they go "holy fuck" start studying, and observe that, all things considered, the ants still pretty much act like regular ants doing regular ant things.
fast forward some more, and the scientists feel like they have enough data from observing the colony as-is, so they decide to try an experiment. they put a little walkway between the bunker colony and the og colony in the vent shaft so the bunker colony members have the option of leaving and rejoining the og colony.
spoiler alert: every single ant in the bunker immediately nopes the fuck back to the colony in the vent shaft. within days the bunker is completely empty. the scientists leave the walkway in place so when more ants inevitably fall back down the vent shaft they can just climb back up instead of starting up the cycle anew.
tl;dr it's not "oh noes evil ants are on a rampage", it's "ants forced into a horrible situation to survive get to go home"
everyone in the crab bucket just wants to go home
On Tumblr, you could make a post that briefly mentions "seafood" and someone asks you what that is, and you figure that they've just never heard the term, and explain that it's just the word that covers all non-mammal marine animals that people commonly eat - fish, shrimp, mussels, etc. You know, food animals from the sea. And they still don't get it, ask you to elaborate, and then you elaborate on the explanation and elaborate the elaboration, on and on as this person keeps being more and more confused by your insufficient explanations, and you are just as confused by their confusion.
And then it turns out that they have somehow never before encountered the concept that some people eat animals that are pulled out of The Big Wet. Unaware that marine fauna can even be fit for human consumption. Yes, they've had tuna before, but tuna comes from cans, not the sea. No, they've never wondered why the can of tuna has a picture of a random fish printed on the label.
It DO be like this
And then some Colour Theory -ass fucker shows up with a lecture of how decorations depicting fish in non-fish related items is a strong theme in the art of an indigenous group that nobody in the conversation belongs to, and it was imperialist, eurocentric and rude of OP to simply naturally assume that "pics of fish on the can means meat of fish in the can" would be the most intuitively logical assumption.
Sometimes Occam’s Razor looks like this:
@i-am-literally-deranged I am increasingly understanding why small children are supposed to be taught a lot of basic information like what a carrot is.

Hi! First of all, thank you so much for all the hard work you are putting into this blog. Second, I wanted to ask if you have any prompts/ideas for what a group of friends, who are all in college/university, could do on a Halloween night out in town, except for going out to a theme party. Thank you so much!
Hi and you're welcome :)
Despite doing Spooktober prompts the second year in a row and having Halloween specific prompts, I never actually celebrated it. It wasn't really a thing for kids when I was young and even now, it's still not that popular besides costume parties.
But I've seen American movies and TV shows, so here are things I remember from that.
Things to do at Halloween
visiting a haunted house
watching scary movies
going to a murder mystery dinner
doing an escape room
getting lost in a corn maze
taking a ghost tour through your town
going on a scavenger hunt
Hope you like them!
