Greetings, Shepherds! Our next official Cosplay duo will be Robin and Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening! We’ve only just started, but we’ve already completed Lucina’s “Marth” mask; and below is something like a tutorial on how to make one that uses materials that are quite cheap, but is quite sturdy and looks great. 

There are many beautiful PVC prop versions of the mask for sale (See: Etsy), but they range around 100 Dubloons (That’s dollars) so if you kinda don’t want to use that much for her mask, read on!

The materials you’ll need are very simple, specifics aren’t necessarily needed, we’re just telling you the exacts of what we used:

-Craft foam sheets (We used black for simplicity’s sake) - Scissors + an X-acto knife/precision knife (for the Small details)  - FolkArt acrylic paint (in Turner’s Yellow & in Navy Blue) - Super Glue (the ORIGINAL) - A sanding pad (as in Sanding paper) - A white half-mask (like this) - Black spray paint - something called Pearl Ex powdered pigments (in Aztec Gold) - Assorted brushes (we used one fine paint brush and a sponge brush)

- The first thing you’ll want to do is download SoffiasOtome’s Marth/Lucina mask template. We used this as a base.

- Measure your face properly (I measured from temple to temple), and print out the template adjusted with the same measurements.

- Cut the whole thing out in these two parts, including the eye slits. You’ll then trace the shape you cut out on your craft foam sheet - and you should use your scissors and precision knife as needed (especially for the eye slits.) And you would end up with something like the photo above. 

- After all the cutting is cleaned up and satisfactory, we slapped on a few coats of Navy Blue paint; and afterwards glued the two parts together according to the template. 

- Next thing we did was the trim. Again, you would cut the shape out of the template sheet, and trace it onto your craft foam. Take scissors and your precision knife to cut it out carefully and don’t attach it to the mask yet. Our progress after cutting the trim out of the craft foam looked like the photo above. (the trim is unattached): 

- Before attaching it to the mask, we gave it a few layers of the yellow acrylic paint; and a few coats of the Perl Ex pigment powder for SHIMMER. The powder sheds a little, so I would recommend using Fixative spray (or hairspray if you’re in a pinch like us) so that the gold shimmer stays only on the trim and away from everything else.   - After the paint is dry and done, mark your positioning for each piece of trim, and then attach it to the mask.

The whole front of the mask is complete!  

- Next we took the half-mask we bought, and trimmed it with scissors so that its shape would fit with the mask front we just made. Use your sanding pad to smooth out the edges you trimmed so that it doesn’t shank you in the face. :)

- (We spray painted the half-mask black/blue so that it matches with our mask front.)

After the paint dries fully; position the mask carefully (you’ll have to bend it a little to curve with the half-mask) - and attach it as seen in the photo above: 

The back will look like this. A little gnarly, but it makes it a lot sturdier now that the craft foam doesn’t have to fend for itself.

Thorn is Terry Jeffords. Hes a big, muscley reliable teddy bear. He can and WILL kick your ass, but then gush about the cutest kids/animals he saw that day. instead of yogurt, hes obsessed with pudding. mans has an addiction.

Stone is Rosa Diaz. He is a stone wall (pun intended) and carries at least 13 hidden weapons on his person. dispite all coming from the same place, Kamino, no one hardly knows anything about the man. just the way he likes it.

Thire is Jake Peralta. He is young, cocky, and a jokester. He is constantly on Fox's nerve yet somehow still alive!? (Fox actually loves him so fucking much. thats his commander. Fox will break and mold Thire into the best of all of them if its the last thing he does. thats his son vod)

Hound is Charles Boyle and he is BFFs with Thire. and just like Boyle he has the weirdest food tastes. He is constantly coming up with the wildest culinary creations and often the only one that will try it with him is Grizzer :( he is also the worst at social interaction. he has a much better time handling animals.

Because Padmé is the only fashion icon we need.
