I drew Lin Beifong :0 surprised? Same frfr. Anyways I always like to think that Asami managed to get Lin out of the office. Like to have a girls night out!
The girls night out would be with Lin, Asami, Korra and Opal probably and of course we can't forget Kya. Kya catches wind of Lin going out and miss ma'am comes back to RC. Like most people thinking that Lin has a lack of fashionable things to wear and Lin is slightly nervous to hang out with girls so young and their jaws hit the floor.
Like Lin is literally made of money and probably saved at least a couple of fashion designers so miss ma'am is hooked up with the good stuff lol

This drawing has been sitting in my files since last year sometime and it was always such a shame I left it there to collect dust. Like I swear to you guys I have not stopped thinking about it and so I finally managed to make myself finish this dang drawing on my weekend.
Took me maybe two hours to color it (which to be honest, was very limited)
But I finished it, and below are the only saved photos of my progress but only because I cleared my camera role out XD

I have decided to share the contents of Tenzin's book entitled, "How To Handle My Drunk Girlfriend". Since the very first time that Lin got wasted while he was sober, Tenzin started setting up a series of do's and don'ts for him to follow in order to endure (and take care of) Lin. They are not arranged in any sequence or significance since they're all merely the morals of every drunk lesson Lin has taught him. So without much ado, here goes:
- When Lin gets drunk, you must immediately carry her to a bed- literally any bed because as soon as Lin is cozy, she'll forget that she needs to pick a fistfight with anyone that walks by her.
- Carry Lin over the shoulder, and not bridal style. She dozes off faster before she even hits the bed and will not try seducing you with kisses.
- Do not squeeze Lin's belly when holding her, it will make her puke. Even if her pants are doing the squeezing, it is still your fault.
- After three drinks, no matter where you are, FETCH HAIR TIES BEFORE ENTERING THE BATHROOM. No amount of holding her hair back will protect it from her projectile vomit.
- Prioritize removing Lin's earrings since they hurt when you "manhandle her head". You are being more inconsiderate in keeping her earrings on than making sure her mouth points to the toilet.
- Keep your throat clear so you can sing to her on the occasions she needs to be entertained. This is only for times she's too drunk to be sleeping and looking at your face is too boring a thing to do.
- Get music lessons so that Lin hates your singing voice a little less.
- Keep telling her that she's a good girl for finishing all the drinks even though she didn't have to. Telling her otherwise can turn into an ugly argument.
- Massaging Lin's head and ruffling her hair will put her to sleep in seconds, no matter where she is or what she's doing: why didn't I learn this six rules ago?
- Do not sneeze while drunk Lin is sleeping, it will spook her and she will punch you in the jaw.
- Don't let drunk Lin help you nurse a wounded jaw no matter how well she claims to be at first aid. It will only result in more pain.
- Permit drunk Lin to punch you in the jaw, she will laugh and you'll fall more in love and that'll make the jaw pain go away.
- Do not talk about snoring. You don't know what that word means or that it's something drunk Lin does. Snoring is a mythical concept.
- You should try to seduce Lin because you're attracted to her since she says it's not taking advantage, but also don't do anything more than kissing her lips because sweating is "too sobering".
- DO NOT STOP CUDDLING.
- Reminding her how beautiful you think she is and how much you love her will make her fall asleep with a smile. DO THIS EVERY NIGHT- DRINKING IS NOT A PREREQUISITE.
- Ask her if there's any gossip she's sitting on. She'll spill everything.
- Do not bring drunk Lin around sober Bumi. YOU will have to clean up the mess. Do not bring drunk Lin around drunk Bumi. YOU DO NOT WANT TO FIND OUT.
- Touching = Tickles. You need to find a way to touch her without touching her. ~~Come back to this later, for now, you can touch/tickle her whether or not she likes it. She needs to be taken care of.~~
- If you're also drunk and you happen to ask her to marry you she will say-
I have an idea but I have absolutely no inspiration to write and everything in my body hurts and I didn’t take my meds but ANYWAY-
After the whole thing with Kuvira ends, Tenzin and Lin are standing amongst the ruble of the city and for the first time in a long time, Tenzin realizes just how much Lin means to him. He’s almost lost her countless times, sure, but in this moment they have alone after everything they’ve been through, he wants nothing more that to take her into his arms and hold her like it’s the last time he’ll ever see her. He turns to her and she turns to him and they just stare at each other. It’s so obvious to both of them they want the other one, but they’re scared of the outcome of the situation. But it’s just so painful to do nothing but look into each other’s eyes and wait for something to happen.
Tenzin wants to pick her up and hold her while he cries into her, mumbling how happy he is that she’s alive. He wants to tell her how much he’s missed her, how much he’s longed to have one moment with her alone like this.
Lin wants to sink into his arms and stay there until someone comes looking for them. She wants the warmth of his body and the beating of his heart against her skin.
But they just stare at each other. And stare, and stare, and blink, and stare…
(Also this like kind of stems from something @ilovelin and I were talking about at some point)
Yess and either an aggressive make out session occurs or someone comes up to them and is like uhh guys everyone’s gathered around back over there? Giving them a suspicious look. I imagine Su, Kya or Bumi would be that person.
Tho leaving it at them staring at each other does add some mystery and gives us the old linzin pining for each other trope that we all love. But a make out session 😩

Do you think we can get some more insight on Lin's jealousy about Tenzin having his firsts w Pema when it comes to his kids rather than w her and Xue? Like I know she knows he loves them, but i imagine its always an insecurity she battles w after the trauma of him leaving her and having a family for yrs before her. I've only gotten to the outine for their conversation, so writing this out here may help me narrow down the core of it when I get back to it.
You're absolutely right that it's an insecurity and it's only re-emerged and amplified with this pregnancy. Lin doesn't have the best record of facing her fears and insecurities, but she is trying. I think what's made it worse is that Tenzin treats her the way he treated Pema.
The first part of that is when he didn't communicate for almost a month when he went back to the city. We weren't shown a lot in LOK, but Tenzin seemed much more focused on the city and the issues than his pregnant wife. Not to say that Pema was okay with it, but she tolerated it.
And with Lin, she is not going to sit back and let him do that to her when she's pregnant. I don't blame her for thinking that he abandoned her AGAIN.
Secondly, with Tenzin's experience with fatherhood before their relationship, I would say Lin feels isolated. She's learning about everything on her own. Tenzin has been doing things that he learned with Pema, not realizing that Lin has different preferences until she says something. I imagine that there's some imbalances and awkwardness in that area and Tenzin is figuring out that he can't assume what worked with Pema works with Lin. Two different women, so two different pregnancy experiences.
Lin may also perceive her pregnancy to not be special to Tenzin because the wonder of becoming a parent is gone for him. While Pema saw her pregnancies as reasons for Tenzin to stay with her, Lin feels like this pregnancy could tear them apart because she's competing with the family he already created.

Dare I say she's working through a significant level of guilt bc she feels like all of her heartache and loneliness from her youth was pointless bc she ended up accepting and being excited for the one thing that ruined their relationship in the first place....which is having Tenzin's baby. She feels so bad that she "deprived" Aang and Sokka a chance to experience a child of her and Tenzin (which is something they always quietly wished to see), she feels bad that she "deprived" Katara of so many years of enjoying the same thing, she feels really guilty that she's bringing a child into such a fractured dynamic w its older siblings and feels like she wasted so many years and so much happiness even though she is cautiously excited to love this baby with everything in her.
My promised linzin playlist! Well, its more of a Lin after Tenzin broke up w her. I like to imagine she probably went a lil insane for a bit (rightfully so). And took a couple of months sabbatical to go on a straight bender w kya and Izumi on one of the more obscure fire nation islands. I think to the general public of RC, she was pretty stone-faced, but inside she struggled very hard w her new reality. I like to imagine she grieved her relationship w Tenzin ending worse than just about any other event in her life (save for her Uncles' deaths). Picture the messy, life-altering breakup you experience in your very early 20s that you feel like you will never recover from. That's Lin.....except she's almost 40, been w the man for 25 yrs, watched him leave her and marry a younger woman less than a year after he ripped her heart out, has adult responsibilities, a demanding job, and is getting relentlessly attacked by the press and general public everytime she steps outside. She was kind of a pitiful sight, which only served to make her more angry and slightly unhinged.
thinking of su on her wedding day looking for lin in the crowd but to no avail and lin not even knowing about it because she didn't see the invite because she doesn't even open her sister's letters because
more women whump. more women pushing themselves and passing out from sleep deprivation and exhaustion. more women training until their knuckles bleed and their legs give out from under them. more women being held prisoner and remaining stoic until the very end or perhaps when they’re rescued. more women under truth serum and terrifying hallucinogens. more women waking up in a pool of blood, their own and others’ and not knowing what happened but that something is terribly wrong with them. more women falling apart o ly when rescued. more women pushed to their breaking point. more women whump.

Thanks to @aproseofroses's comment on "moon phases" I have been working a bit on the next chapter for this fic! Here's a little snippet below on what I've got 🫶🏻
Despite Lin seemingly accepting his reasons for his absence, Lin did not speak to him for over a week. No matter what he did, she continued to ignore him or relayed messages to him through other people. It would be easier to fix this if he knew what was wrong, but for once, Lin was the one cutting and running.
“I don’t know what to do,” Tenzin moaned, sinking at the dinner table and laying his head down between his arms.
“Relationship issues?”
“Go away, Kya.” Tenzin’s voice carried through the thick fabrics preserving his body heat.
“You know, when you’re having a hard time, you’re supposed to lean on your family.”
“You just want to torture me.”
“Lin’s already doing it, so why not me too?”
“Go away.”
“Mom said we need to spend more time. She even said she’d call Bumi so we can all spend time together.”
“Nooo.”
“Too late. Bumi got the message.” Kya sat in the chair beside her younger brother and put her leg on his lap. He attempted to shrug her off, but she doubled down and raised her other leg on him. She smiled at the disapproving grunt from Tenzin. “So, back to you sulking and acting like you’re the victim.”
“Well, I’m trying to fix things and Lin won’t give me a chance!”
“She didn’t talk to her sister for thirty years. You were radio silent for weeks. I think you can handle one week of Lin ignoring you.”
“I thought family is supposed to make you feel better.”
“Not if it’s your dumb little brother being an idiot.”
I kinda want to gush and cry about the rather overlooked platonic relationship of Annabeth and Silena. Everybody talks about Annabeth and Thalia/Piper or Clarisse and Silena.
In my opinion, they where sisters, officer. Silena fulfilled older sister duties while Thalia was tree/was off being a hunter of Artemis. Silena was the one who taught her about girly stuff, was her confidant and advisor in boy troubles. She (and probably Clarisse) was there for her when Annabeth went through hell when Percy and Rachel grew closer and spend so much time together.
I think her relationship with Silena is why Aphrodite initially took notice in Annabeth and almost started to treat maternaly after Silena's death.
P. S This is more of a headcanon, but Piper sometimes felt jealous of Annabeth because she felt that her mother paid more attention to Annabeth than her.
THEY'RE SISTERS YOUR HONOR (also I'm a personal believer in Annabeth & Silena & Clarisse friendship pre canon even if Annabeth & Clarisse were closer to frienemies)
Mmmmm now (personally I believe that) Annabeth did show up to camp earlier (since Silena is only like 1 or 2 years older and Annabeth showed up wayyy earlier that most demigods). Still it didn't stop her from looking at this young girl who's trying to show her around camp all scuffy and trying to adopt her. She's just so adoptable, look at her
It was probably rough at the start ngl especially with Annabeth hung up on Thalia. Or Luke being put off that she's trying to "replace" Thalia's role in Annabeth's life. Neither of them were very receptive to her at first. It was only when Annabeth got her period that she really opened up. Since this wasn't something she could go to Luke for and it felt that it was too delicate of a situation for Clarisse. Gods forbit that she ask one of her older sister and one of her brother overhears. So Silena it is with a little knock on the Aphrodite cabin door
After that they just clicked. Although neither her or Clarisse was happy about having to play nice in front of her, they make due. Both of them comforted her when Luke betrayed camp and Percy was out poisoned. It was the start of one of many cry sessions in the future. Another thing that I can see Silena helping Annabeth through is Thalia joining the hunters. Leaving Annabeth all over again just in a different way. Anyway the BOTL happened and they were having cry sessions all the time. Advice varied from "sock his ass" (Clarisse) and "why don't you tell him that you miss him" (Silena). Does she listen to either? No lmao but getting her feelings out is nice
Clarisse and Annabeth have one last cry session to grieve Silena and never do it again or talk about them afterwards. Without their heart there, they drifted apart. Of course, they were still close but just not like before
I do think her relationship with Silena helped her with Aphrodite. Since she initially bought into the whole Aphrodite cabin can't fight propaganda. With how deeply she and Clarisse grieved Silena's death, the goddess ended up taking a sad liking to them. Yes they were both their actual godly parent's favored but it's clear they needed some softness. And they were there for her little dove. She can at least look after them for her daughter
Previously, it was closer to "oh my daughter's friend" and "half of my favorite TV couple!!!" Moreover, the gods probably know about the Statue quest too. So once Annabeth got it, Aphrodite softened further. Which is where I could see maternal care start to enter as she saw Minerva giving the quest as sort of an abandonment since no one came back. So she tried to provide some comfort
Gods vs the concept of not giving other gods' kids more attention than their own. But yeahhh Aphrodite loves all her kids but she has to look out for Annabeth. Piper (and other newer members) being a little miffed over it is fair. Mmmm the Aphrodite kids from the wars give her more grace over it though
