So y'all know my inabilities of posting at all but I promise you I actually finished a piece that's been sitting in my files!!

I drew Lin Beifong :0 surprised? Same frfr. Anyways I always like to think that Asami managed to get Lin out of the office. Like to have a girls night out!

The girls night out would be with Lin, Asami, Korra and Opal probably and of course we can't forget Kya. Kya catches wind of Lin going out and miss ma'am comes back to RC. Like most people thinking that Lin has a lack of fashionable things to wear and Lin is slightly nervous to hang out with girls so young and their jaws hit the floor.

Like Lin is literally made of money and probably saved at least a couple of fashion designers so miss ma'am is hooked up with the good stuff lol

I have decided to share the contents of Tenzin's book entitled, "How To Handle My Drunk Girlfriend". Since the very first time that Lin got wasted while he was sober, Tenzin started setting up a series of do's and don'ts for him to follow in order to endure (and take care of) Lin. They are not arranged in any sequence or significance since they're all merely the morals of every drunk lesson Lin has taught him. So without much ado, here goes:

After the whole thing with Kuvira ends, Tenzin and Lin are standing amongst the ruble of the city and for the first time in a long time, Tenzin realizes just how much Lin means to him. He’s almost lost her countless times, sure, but in this moment they have alone after everything they’ve been through, he wants nothing more that to take her into his arms and hold her like it’s the last time he’ll ever see her. He turns to her and she turns to him and they just stare at each other. It’s so obvious to both of them they want the other one, but they’re scared of the outcome of the situation. But it’s just so painful to do nothing but look into each other’s eyes and wait for something to happen.

Tenzin wants to pick her up and hold her while he cries into her, mumbling how happy he is that she’s alive. He wants to tell her how much he’s missed her, how much he’s longed to have one moment with her alone like this.

Lin wants to sink into his arms and stay there until someone comes looking for them. She wants the warmth of his body and the beating of his heart against her skin.

But they just stare at each other. And stare, and stare, and blink, and stare…

Hi sweet pea! Now how did you know that I was writing about Lin's jealousy and insecurity about Tenzin already being a father for the next chapter? 😏

I've only gotten to the outine for their conversation, so writing this out here may help me narrow down the core of it when I get back to it.

You're absolutely right that it's an insecurity and it's only re-emerged and amplified with this pregnancy. Lin doesn't have the best record of facing her fears and insecurities, but she is trying. I think what's made it worse is that Tenzin treats her the way he treated Pema.

The first part of that is when he didn't communicate for almost a month when he went back to the city. We weren't shown a lot in LOK, but Tenzin seemed much more focused on the city and the issues than his pregnant wife. Not to say that Pema was okay with it, but she tolerated it.

And with Lin, she is not going to sit back and let him do that to her when she's pregnant. I don't blame her for thinking that he abandoned her AGAIN.

Secondly, with Tenzin's experience with fatherhood before their relationship, I would say Lin feels isolated. She's learning about everything on her own. Tenzin has been doing things that he learned with Pema, not realizing that Lin has different preferences until she says something. I imagine that there's some imbalances and awkwardness in that area and Tenzin is figuring out that he can't assume what worked with Pema works with Lin. Two different women, so two different pregnancy experiences.

Lin may also perceive her pregnancy to not be special to Tenzin because the wonder of becoming a parent is gone for him. While Pema saw her pregnancies as reasons for Tenzin to stay with her, Lin feels like this pregnancy could tear them apart because she's competing with the family he already created.
