small things that will change your life -

Honestly they remind me of being at protests and feeling like I was in a war zone in my own city. They remind me of watching my friends put on gas masks and walk through tear gas to keep telling the police who were attacking us that my life mattered. Being face to face with confederate flag wearing, assault rifle carrying assholes yelling over me like white people have done my entire life.

It took me a long couple of months to figure out why I hated fireworks and THIS IS IT. Any loud bangs or smoke makes me incredibly anxious because it makes me think I’m about to get maced.

People are sitting watching America BURN and not saying a word.  Thank you Mr. Robert De Niro.
