I was just recently hired as a cosmetician at a pharmacy. It’s been fun! I completed all the computer training but there’s a gap in their training that’s been making me nervous when guiding customers. I did ask if any additional classes were available but I haven’t gotten a solid answer yet.
We have a significant dermo-cosmetics section of brands like bioderma, IDC, phylo, la roche-posay, etc. I know *nothing* about the products, how to use them, when and why.
I should at least be capable of building skincare routines for customers but I’ve been getting really lost !
Would anyone happen to have some free, accessible resources that I can study in my free time? My cursory look around only gave me paid courses as an option.

also i'll never back 'screaming kids should be banned as an accommodation because i'm overstimulated' bc as an autistic person whose final boss nightmare is the grocery store, screaming children are not even on the list of things i wish we'd change about many grocery stores to make them less overwhelming & awful. and most importantly if we DID change the things i personally hate most about many grocery stores because they stress me out so bad it's hard for me to even go, i'm willing to bet there'd be a lot less overwhelmed, screaming kids in the first place.
It would help a lot if stores had a reliable and clearly marked way to figure out where things were rather than trying to run a stressed employee to earth.
And if they could leave stuff in the same place so I wouldn’t need to spend extra time there (but they move it so we spend extra time there).
If they put decent ventilation in the cleaning products aisle, made it so that aisle was optional to traverse as part of navigating the store, and maybe had a separate (clearly marked) spot for unscented cleaning products so we didn’t need to traverse the aisle.
This is not an issue I have but I know several people who feel the same way about the meat products aisle.
And if they had chairs or places to rest. A place to stash a cart while toddlers melt down. And bathrooms that don’t require you to navigate a social puzzle to access.
If they put a staffer adjacent to any locked cabinets so accessing those items was trivial
Adequate checkout staffing. Adequate stocking staffing. Adequate customer assistance staffing. Adequate cleaning staffing. High enough pay that people keep working there and acquiring skills to improve time spent in the store.
