Welcome to thiamsongfics, where our love for music and thiam combine to create a beautiful symphony. Don’t be fooled by the name, all kinds of fanworks are accepted into this challenge, whether that be fanfic, fanart, edits, or something else!
The purpose of this event is to get inspiration from the music you love and use that as the driving force to create something incredible for the thiam community. There are monthly prompts (as seen below) for you to choose your songs, as well as flash challenges (stay tuned to find out what those are!!) which will be popping up throughout to keep everyone inspired and on their toes ;)

Yes! Although this event is named “thiamsongfics”, all kinds of fanworks will be accepted! Think of: fanfiction, fanart, edits, moodboards, playlists, headcanon lists, recommendation lists, and more! If you’re unsure whether a specific idea you have will be accepted, don’t hesitate to send an ask!
What exactly is a “flash challenge”? And when might I encounter one?
A flash challenge is a sub-challenge that goes alongside the monthly song prompts. The purpose of these challenges is to shake things up and get people even MORE motivated to create thiam content inspired by songs you love!
Flash challenges will be announced some time before the official posting date. Whereas the normal prompts get a month long period where you can posts your works, the flash prompts will only last for a couple of days! Better be quick!
Do I have to participate?
Nope! You’re allowed to participate as much or as little as you’d like. Little time? No worries! You can sit by the sidelines and cheer everyone on! A sudden rush of inspiration? Create as many fanworks as your heart desires! There’s absolutely no pressure to create something for each month, this is all in good fun!
How do I have to incorporate my chosen song in my work?
This is entirely up to you! The purpose of the prompts is for you to get inspired. Whether you use the lyrics of the song in your work, or whether you let the themes and vibes of the song bleed into your work, as long as you’re incorporating the song one way or another, you’re doing it right!

And one day Theo was just gone, leaving behind nothing but dust and a note on Liam's door. Only then Liam realized, he'd taken his heart too.
Theo couldn't take the udder loneliness he felt. Couldn't take the ghost of his past haunting him where ever he went. Couldn't look at Liam, knowing he'd never return his feelings.

Summary:
"Theo’s kisses are hungry and desperate, like he’s starving and Liam is his the first meal in a long time. His hands squeeze Liam’s waist with a gentle, but firm grip, almost afraid to let go for even a second. “You’re such a dumbass, you could have died,” he says every time they part for air. That doesn’t stop him from diving right back in, though.
Liam lets his hands roam Theo’s smooth skin. Finds the places it’s raised by scars, moles and wounds yet to close. Explores every inch, committing it to memory for he doesn’t know when he’ll have this – when he’ll have Theo – again. If he’ll have him again."

methods of failing and trying to communicate (according to liam and theo):
talk normally… nope, too emotionally constipated/afraid of rejection ie abandonment for that
write what u want to say… no, the process is way too long and leave room for freaking out and change ur mind
using animal body language… someone is too inept at werewolf talk to interpret animal behaviours correctly even though that someone is the actual werewolf out of the two
fuck it, just listen to music, regulate ur emotions through that, why bother communicating… it doesn’t work, like, at all
With the summer coming into full bloom, things can’t seem to help heating up. It’s certainly the case for our favorite werewolf boys, which is why the theme of this flash challenge is heat.
Will these two get into a heated argument? Will they suffer the consequences of an actual heatwave? Or will they get heated in an entirely different way (if you catch my drift 👀). It’s all up to you! How will the song-aspect tie into this flash challenge?
This account wouldn’t be called “thiamsongfics” if I didn’t want your creation to be somewhat inspired by a song. After all, that’s the fun of this challenge! For this particular flash challenge, you will be completely free to choose whichever song you feel drawn to without a prompt to guide you.
Wait… Any song?
That’s right! You may choose any song you want! This means you do not have to use a song inspired by this challenge’s prompt, nor will you have to take the August prompt into account when creating your fanwork. (Though you are free to do either, or both, if you wish).
What kind of fanworks will be accepted into this challenge?
Just like our main event, all kinds of fanworks will be accepted here. Think of: fanfiction, fanart, edits, moodboards, playlists, headcanon lists, recommendation lists, and more! If you’re unsure whether a specific idea you have will be accepted, don’t hesitate to send an ask!
How do I use the prompt exactly? Does it have to be set during summer?
Haha! No, it does not have to be set in summer at all. As stated in the introduction of this flash challenge, you can use the prompt however you want! You could write something about sharing body heat in the depths of winter, or you could give one of them fire powers (hell, give both of them fire powers, if that’s your jam!), you could even make one of them an environmentalist who’s very concerned with global warming. Be creative! The prompt should be used as an inspiration, not as something that confines you :)
Do I have to participate in this if I’m participating in the monthly event? Or the other way around?
Nope! As I’ve said, this challenge is not intertwined with the monthly prompts at all. You do not have to participate in this flash challenge if you’re participating in the monthly prompt(s), and you do not have to participate in the monthly prompts if you’re only interested in this flash challenge!
Okay, but am I allowed to create multiple works?
Yep! Free participation means you’re allowed to create as much, or as little, as your heart desires. Whether that means you’re sitting this one out, or that you’re out there creating multiple works a day. There’s no pressure and no limit, as long as you’re taking care of yourself and having fun :)

Clear sunny day, endless green grass and the hot blood trailing down from his nose. His hand brought up to cusp at the aching thing, tongue darted forward in his mouth to feel around his teeth. Sore, but otherwise intact.

The country club that Theo worked at, and how it became more than a simple workplace each summer that he met Liam there.

The theme was songs that feel like summer and I picked I know the end by phoebe Bridgers and Chemical light by Josie Edward’s. Instead of a typical bright and light summer theme I took inspo from when I hang out with my friends near dusk where we are just roaming around, and that feeling of sitting in the summer dark looking at the sky.
Under is just gonna be more of my thoughts
why I chose I know the end: I picked it as I thought it fit how beacon hills is always almost at the end of the world. I was super excited when I was cowling through the lyrics and saw the “Went looking for a creation myth. Ended up with a pair of cracked lips” line. As this could fit for both of them in different ways. For Theo he first when looking for a true alpha and the void but came out without ether but instead Liam. And for Liam he when looking for Theo and got him out of hell cuz he needed him to harness electricity. That didn’t work but their relationship grew into something else. Then I also added the swings from the “Talkin' on a rusty swing set” line.
why I chose chenille light as well: I originally wasn’t going to include this song but listening to it last night when it came out I just k ew it fit so well. I fine the it encapsulated the fact they are just kids and dealing with this. As well as the fact they’re alright but it is clearly draining on them.
just some random things:
a few of the things I added that might not be cause are: the dog right above Theo has the Canis Major constellation right above him, and above that and next to the lyric block is a chimera. So this was my second attempt cuz the first time I did I published it before downloading it and it fucked it up. Fu Pinterest. But it wasn’t too distorted to where I couldn’t recreate it but still.

I started writing a fic for this, but ultimately decited to put it on ice, because I wasn't SUPER happy with the plot and I'd rather focus on finishing my August submission(s) :) And not failing my finals. That too...
Regardless, here is a snipped of what I already have, in case anyone is interested :]
Established Relationship, Domestic Smut, Thiam move in with each other
Theo’s apprehensive expression didn’t change, but he didn’t argue. Of course he knew Liam was right, but that was the problem. Liam’s pack would have helped out, touching all of Theo’s stuff, tainting the wonderful scent of TheoandLiamandhome. Side eyeing every step he took and wondering why Liam would wanna move in with something like that: A broken and dishonest lab experiment.
A moist hand on his liquid face brought him back to reality. Blue eyes were staring intensely, watching every minute expression. “What are you thinking about?” Theo shrugged, staring back. Still, he didn’t speak, but Liam nodded regardless. “Stop thinking so hard.” He leaned down, gently pressing his lips against Theo’s.
The kiss didn’t last very long, but Liam didn’t move more than two inches from Theo’s face. They stared at each other for a few long moments. Once again, Theo found himself getting lost in those brilliant blues. Liam’s eyes very a clear ocean, that could drown you if you weren’t careful. He had to hold onto those strong shoulders to stay afloat. To not cave then and there and promise Liam all he had to give. Or maybe he had already done that.

Originally I wanted to write a fic about Theo discovering that he is demiaroace along with being emotionally stunted. He knows Liam likes him and he also kinda likes Liam, but he needs more time to figure himself out and to really fall in love (and he falls hard when he does). But I didn't due to a lack of time and really any clue how to write it haha. I might do it anyway when I have more time, but feel free to write your own! (Do tag me, though! let me seeeeee!!!)
I'm having a lot of fun with this event and it's really doing the heavy lifting on my mental health atm (I haven't talked about it on here but the AO3 writers curse is cursing). And I know I said I wouldn't write this month, but a little smutty idea came to me in a delusion and I might post that, after all. But that depends on whether or not I finish on time (hehehe "finish")
