Feeling dirty and grimy for extended periods of time is extremely draining on the mental well-being of humans. Psychological studies prove it is detrimental to our self-esteem and contentment. And no wonder; we are animals--homo sapiens, a kind of ape--that instinctively places high importance on personal grooming. Like monkeys and cats and birds in a zoo, one of the best ways to make us feel sad ... is to make us feel gross to ourselves.

So here's an easy saying from my therapist/zookeeper:

"If you feel like you hate the world, eat something.

If you feel like the world hates you, get some sleep.

If you feel like you hate yourself, take a shower.

hello, i made an early post about this but here is a clearer one

the last 3 months or so commissions got to a stall for me, and during those months i commit several mistakes to avoid asking for help

i have been paying my utilities and debts through other loans

i thought i could handle and make it to the end of the year like this, but im drowing currently and i dont even have money to buy food

i only have two weeks to pay this huge debt off, and i have no money to my name

i need help to cover that debt off, its in mexican pesos but its around 1200$ dollars

Nancy nods again, her face soft. “Yeah - there’s a guy out there somewhere who’d be beyond lucky to have you.”

She squeezes Robin’s wrist then, gently, her face sincere as she meets her gaze.

And suddenly, Robin can’t bear it. Maybe it’s the booze that’s still in her system, or the sound of Whitney Houston drifting in from the yard, or the fading adrenaline from trying to bang the door down. Or, maybe none of these things are true at all. Maybe, it’s just that Nancy looks really beautiful, despite everything, and she’s close enough that Robin can smell her strawberry shampoo, and it’s easy to forget that there’s a world outside of this bathroom, even if just for a moment. All she knows is that it’s just too much -

And then Robin is closing the minute amount of space between them, grabbing Nancy gently by the back of her neck, and pulling her forward, pressing her lips hard against Nancy’s.

Nancy lets out a squeak of surprise, but doesn’t pull away. It’s terrifying, and incredible. It’s even more incredible when Robin feels Nancy relax, and oh God, she’s kissing her back.
