ok i slept and ate food and now i will walk around
I think there's something beautiful about the fact that "The Locked Tomb Trilogy" became "The Locked Tomb Series" because Tamsyn decided to dedicate a whole book to Nona. A whole book dedicated to the six months that Nona, Cam, Pal, and Pyrrha were a family. A book about how the love was there, and it doesn't matter how briefly it was there. It's over, it's finished, you can't take loved away.

Yup returning to necromancy, I’m so back. And you’re so back, and you’re so back, and you’re so back, and you’re
Ugh Idk why I argue with people all it does is make me feel like garbage :/ literally promised myself not to do it anymore bc of how much I hate it. I dont know how people have the energy for it tbh or why some people have blogs just filled with it.
Really getting flashbacks to the gay rights era, where the talking points used to justify anti-gay discrimination were just transparently nonsensical but people just really kept repeating them.
"The purpose of marriage is to have kids so that's why we can't let gays marry"
"So, we should also ban infertile people from getting married?"
"No, because an infertile man and a woman might be able to have kids if they hypothetically became fertile so it's okay for them to get married."
????
Okay, I mean, if we're just imagining an arbitrary change in reality gay couples could have kids if one of them suddenly changed sex, I don't see how "If they could have kids, they could have kids" makes any more sense for one couple than the other.
Same with the transparent nonsense of "In biological reality there are only two sexes"
I mean... There are more than two arrangements of sex characteristics in biological reality.
"Yes but it is an indisputable biological reality that only two of those arrangements count and the rest don't."
Yeah I feel like that's a taxonomy, not a "biological fact".
Also, and more subtly... It is not a biological fact that any specific form of sex segregation is necessary or good.
"The reason we need title IX protections is that men and women have different genitals."
I feel like that doesn't quite follow.
Why was title IX enacted in the first place?
Who is effected when competition for women’s college sports scholarships in more intense?
Was it enacted because some people have ovaries and some have testicles?
Because I feel like there are some missing steps between "Some people have ovaries and some have testicles" and "Therefore sports should be segregated by genital configuration and funded equally."
Those steps aren't necessarily wrong, but they certainly aren't "immutable biological reality"
Morlock, I’m not even the sporty one of my unsporty family and even I know that college sports scholarships are extremely important for college affordability and that Title IX is about forcing colleges to generously fund women’s collegiate sports, including scholarships, which were previously funded much less than men’s sports.
The big practical reason why trans women playing women’s sports is a big deal is that there are a lot of sports where a fine but not scholarship material male athlete is competitive with world class women, which means that it’s pretty obvious that transing for free college is an option for some high school athletes who are otherwise paying for college themselves. The payoff, the economic point of 99.99% of youth sports is that college scholarship.
The fear is that making title IX scholarships a turkey-shoot for every mediocre amab high school athlete who is willing to be chemical castrated and functionally end college sports scholarships for afab athletes. As a side note, I am under the impression that female professional athletes come out of college sports more frequently than male professional athletes, so there are professional sports pipeline implications for afab athletes as well.
Let’s consider for a moment specifically the sport of basketball, which everyone knows favors the unusually tall. Everyone also knows that amab people are on average taller than afab people. If the scholarships for women’s basketball are offered to the only the best high school women’s basketball players, do you think that a lot of the women’s basketball players who receive scholarships to play basketball in college will be amab, if amab players are permitted? How do you think that afab baseball players and their parents will feel when amab athletes threaten their college funding plan?
I think equating a professional female who does sports to "every mediocre amab high school athlete" is not only incredibly ignorant of the talent that women athletes have but it's also so blatantly sexist that I'm surprised you felt comfortable typing it out.
Girl, please read the whole sentence and slow down before rage posting.
Not rage posting, youre just saying weird things and I thought Id point it out to you, tbh I didnt think that my response could possibly be read as rage but go off I guess you seem pretty dedicated to arguing with people
You appear to be having a reading comprehension issue and trying to use your misunderstanding to try to put yourself in a position of authority. The meaning of the sentence is in the paragraph as a whole, not the soundbite you pulled out of context and misrepresented. Please read the paragraph below slowly.
“The fear is that making title IX scholarships a turkey-shoot for every mediocre amab high school athlete who is willing to be chemical castrated and functionally end college sports scholarships for afab athletes. As a side note, I am under the impression that female professional athletes come out of college sports more frequently than male professional athletes, so there are professional sports pipeline implications for afab athletes as well.”
Read it again, and try reading it out loud to yourself if you are in a place where that would be appropriate behavior.
Now please explain to the class how you misunderstood this paragraph earlier such that writing “I think equating a professional female who does sports to ‘every mediocre amab high school athlete’ is not only incredibly ignorant of the talent that women athletes have but it’s also so incredibly sexist I’m surprised you felt comfortable writing it out” seemed like a reasonable response.
Its not just that paragraph that you say that though, you also still use that point to justify your argument so Im not really sure why youre calling reading comp lol

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping
this also goes for aesthetic or -core titles. 'y2k tank top' is going to get you resellers and fast fashion brands advertising to people looking to meet a current trend. 'thin strap crop tank top' is going to get you a diverse group of results and not upcharge you to hell and back
additionally, shop second hand when you can, second hand and thrift sites typically organize clothes by the cut and color. theyll be more affordable than a depop seller curating you a style to sell you
useful terminology for different kinds of clothing shapes :)
comorbid disorders are either like "yeah ok, makes sense" or "what the fuck"
adhd and autism having a high comorbidity rate? yeah checks out
adhd and autism both having high rates of comorbidity with hypermobility and GI issues? thats an evil curse
I 100% expect us to discover a bizarre but in retrospect, blindingly obvious connection between these in my lifetime.
I'm willing to put $5 on it being related to the genetic connection between Dopamine and Connective Tissue Proteins that causes domestic dogs to be friendlier than their lupine ancestors and more likely to have floppy ears/curly tails. We're not dogs, but seeing how similar the symptoms of domestication are across mammals, I'm thinking we share that particular mechanism.
Now to queue this post for 2074 and see how it plays out...
Here is a research paper about dopamine and autoimmune disorders, so there's a connection with ADHD (lack of dopamine) and autoimmune gastric disorders.
The paper starts by explaining that dopamine helps regulate your central nervous system - kidney function, how fast your digestion works, and your blood pressure stability. That covers bloating, constipation, nutrient deficiency (which has an impact on muscle tone, energy levels etc) and blood pressure (which covers tachycardia, POTS, high blood pressure, poor circulation in your hands and feet, buildup of lymphatic fluid... the list is endless)
The neurotransmitter dopamine is a key factor in central nervous system (CNS) function, regulating many processes including reward, movement
and here's a research paper i found really interesting about the gut-brain-skin axis, on the prevalence of neuropsychiatric disorders & gastrointestinal issues in people with rosacea.
Rosacea is a common chronic cutaneous inflammatory disorder. Recently, patients with rosacea were identified as having a higher risk of deve
