As a side note, I am under the impression that female professional athletes come out of college sports more frequently than male professional athletes, so there are professional sports pipeline implications for afab athletes as well.

I'm willing to put $5 on it being related to the genetic connection between Dopamine and Connective Tissue Proteins that causes domestic dogs to be friendlier than their lupine ancestors and more likely to have floppy ears/curly tails. We're not dogs, but seeing how similar the symptoms of domestication are across mammals, I'm thinking we share that particular mechanism.

The paper starts by explaining that dopamine helps regulate your central nervous system - kidney function, how fast your digestion works, and your blood pressure stability.
