One of Orisa's fuckups when she first came online is used in gamer montages whenever something gets destroyed on screen. There's a poorly-edited horse neigh over the footage.

Footage of Mauga absolutely dunking on Overwatch during the Deep Sea Raiders event resurfaced after Overwatch was shut down- his clowning matched the sentiment a lot of people were feeling at the time. Mauga has used this to his advantage and regularly stars on podcasts.

Regular Victim of RPF:

This tier also contains a certain amount of meme status, but Reinhardt crashed AO3 the moment he joined old Overwatch. Reinhardt does dramatic readings of some of the X-readers for shits and giggles.

It wasn't until a fair ways into his career that Emre finally got the public spotlight on him in Overwatch, but when he did: AO3 crashed again.

Morrison and Reyes are self-explanatory I think. THE yaoi ship of the pre-fall Overwatch RPF era in-universe.

Tracer was mostly a side character in the RPF but was prime meme status after some of her quips during the King's Row Uprising reached the press.

Ana was constantly positioned as the "obstacle" to the in-universe Morrison/Reyes pairing. She had a dedicated fanbase that liked her though.

Mercy feels self-explanatory; tabloid articles ranked her as the most attractive Overwatch woman purely because of one (1) photo she took dolled up in her Valkyrie suit. She's still pissed about this.

Torbjorn was another side character in the RPF and his real fans were called "problematic" because of the fact that he designed the Bastion units. His response to hearing about this became meme status.

Sojourn was underappreciated while she was in Overwatch, but during the Petras trial she was shown more RPF love.

The in-universe true crime/serial killer fandom REALLY likes Doomfist. Talon agents made a drinking game out of dramatic readings of his X-readers.

Minor meme status:

Cassidy barely fucking escaped the RPF purely because Blackwatch was classified and he kept his head way the fuck down ever since. However. . . he did get spotted in his usual getup in the background of a youtube video and became a very minor internet sensation.

Genji escaped RPF for the same reason as Cass, but became mildly internet famous when he blended dino nuggets and mountain dew together into a concoction during a moment of weakness and posted it to his video blog.

Winston got Winton'd

Zenyatta got filmed by an in-universe TikTok-equivalent star asking him a ragebait question, and Zenyatta's nonchalant response made him briefly viral.

Sigma starred in an old documentary that got rediscovered and meme'd to death by Genji/Mei/Freja's generation, but the meme has faded for the newer generations.

Venture has vine energy. I'm thinking a short video where they just. ate a rock? Which is now found in a significant amount of youtube-equivalent compilations. Like one of those random shitpost videos you find once and then never again.

Hazard also has vine energy. Starred in a brief shitpost video of him explaining how best to throw bricks at cop cars.

Juno made the mistake of showing up exactly once on D.va's stream and her autism made her the star of the show

Meme'd only in niche circles:

Junkrat is the meme all-star of Junkertown. Undisputed. This man can't breathe without another meme being made about him. Could become shitpost status should he choose to continue his world crime spree.

Mei is meme'd in a very 'so wholesome!! must protec!!!' way by the science community on the youtube equivalent. She has a bit of a love-hate relationship with this.

Kiriko got caught with her ridiculous donut purchases so she's a bit of a meme in certain parts of Japan

Junker Queen is meme'd in Junkertown in the same way that any world leader is meme'd. Mostly positive, with some critical, if only because they know that Junker Queen is too tech illiterate and also just too damn busy doing things to respond to shitpost allegations.

Wuyang and Anran saved their college during the Null Sector attacks, but during the awards ceremony, Wuyang struck the world's most earnest smile while Anran's looked significantly more forced, and that became a meme template in Chengdu for a while.

Sombra deliberately keeps herself as anonymous as possible but can and will manipulate the algorithm to make a meme big when she wants to. She's currently trying bring back Sigma's memes. She sends people RPF of themselves that she finds for fun. . . and she'll never admit that she wrote Overwatch RPF unironically as a teen.
