I don't feel the need to use "magic with a K" because I don't feel the need to differentiate different types of magic through spelling and also I will bite you if you force me to read "magickian" and act like it's the same as pronouncing "magician". If I'm talking about stage magic for some damn reason, I'll call it stage magic. If I'm talking about a particular kind of folk magic, I'll name it. If I'm talking about chaos magic, I'll say the phrase "chaos magic". Middle English and Aleister Crowley is not going to fuck me because I don't fuck.

You should be starting a recipe book. I don't give a shit if you're only 20-years-old. The modern web is rotting away bit by bit before our very eyes. You have no idea when that indie mom blog is going down or when Pinterest will remove that recipe. Copy it down in a notebook, physically or digitally. Save it somewhere only you can remove it. Trust me, looking for a recipe only to find out it's been wiped off the internet is so fucking sad. I've learned my lesson one too many times.

Saving them for yourself also lets you copy out those little tweaks and substitutions that you do to make a recipe work for you.

I literally keep a file of notecards with recipes I've gotten from family or cookbooks or online, with notes about the tweaks I've made. (I noted some of these in my Autumn Recipe Roundup series too.) It's really been invaluable for keeping track of things over time, plus it's fun to see the little notes in my and my parents' handwriting.

i’ve been inspired by the person who said if they got 666k notes they would practice self care. so ya know what? i’ve been in a spiral of depression for months so if this post gets 1 MILLION notes by the end of 2023, i will start taking care of myself and actually try to battle my depression and live my life.
