i think im doing art for work now??
i'm making a lot of infographics and instructionals for my job these days. this is the first i did. i'm aiming to get a website up this month so i can organize these and they can be available to whoever might need them.

these were all made for the program that I worked for in college, which was a post-secondary university program for students with I/DDs. having the opportunity to do art for work was incredible, and I found a niche here in the intersection of art and education. one of the most important things I had to learn was how to walk the line of making everything very clear/leaving nothing implied while also creating for an adult audience. I wanted to make these fun and engaging, but avoid condescending tone (my bjggest peeve) at all costs.
today I found out my mother doesnāt know what dandelions are and now Iām wondering what other strange secrets sheās been quietly harboring

we have dandelions EVERYWHERE, they are basically our State Weed, it is absolutely impossible that my mom has never interacted with a dandelion before, this requires further investigation
So after extensive interrogation I have an update:
my mom is in fact aware that dandelions exist. she temporarily forgot the name and there was some miscommunication.
the truth is actually weirder
sheās aware dandelions look like this
she is familiar with this flower. she knows the name of this flower. she declines to believe, however, that these are also dandelions
she does not believe these are the same plant. I tried to explain, and she thought I was either misinformed or lying. so I asked her what exactly did she think the yellow ones were called?
she answered, with complete confidence: Daffodils.
