This was my first ever substack article and I'm genuinely so proud of it. Not because it's the greatest thing ever written lol hell no, not even close. but because i did something i was so afraid and anxious of doing for the longest time. I didn't care about who's gonna see it or who isn't. Just posted it and didn't look back. As someone who is not only anxious but a major procrastinator and a perfectionist (the worst combo might i add. Send help.) posting this article eventhough i still found flaws in it and while literally physically cringing, was definitely a challenge. But the fact that i did it despite all that, genuinely made me so happy. Not to get sappy but it deadass brought tears to my eyes. We can keep second guessing ourselves, whether about our writing or whatever it is we want to do, but if we don't actually do the thing and just keep thinking about it, then what's the point? Trying is always worth it. Doing the things that bring you joy and fullfilement should be a priority. Chasing perfection is a fool's errand. Because you will mess up. You will write something so cringy, it will haunt your every waking hour. But you will also write something good, something that will resonate with someone out there and you absolutely WILL get better. That's just how it is man, i don't make the rules.
